Great accommodation and location at a great price. Will be back.

The apartment was very spacious. Very handy to have a kitchen. Everything we needed. Ideal location near ferry and shops. The owner was there to meet us when we arrived, even though we were early, and let us drop off our bags. He also allowed us to take our bikes inside overnight.

Clean, comfortable room. Excellent views. Hosts were very easy to deal with - although, due to delays in trave, I didn't actually ge to meet them. Ideal location for single travellers as well as families.

Nothing. Consideration should be given to including a USB charging point - if not already available - in rooms (for charging phones, cameras, etc). If one existed in my room, I didn't see it. However, this did not detract from my experience (and I had a mobile charger with me for use in the event that one wasn't available in the establishments I visited).

Outside building need of attention. Run down. Reception area unappealing. We would not have liked to go inside to get to our apartment. Needed better lighting. Difficult to use kitchen and to read after daylight.

Clean and budget friendly

The views are lovely and the setting is quiet but central. Loads of parking. And dogs allowed. Grateful there were spare pillows and duvets, and the telly worked without issue.

There were no lights on in the hall or outside the building after dark. You can hear noise from the corridor and all the doors are really narrow. No hooks in the bathroom for towels.

It was spacious and light with a sea view, garden and off street parking. Comfy bed and great location.

The shower wasn’t working properly but I have let the host know this so it can be fixed.

Loch and Mountain Views from a charming old-fashioned seaside apartment

Location was fantastic - a short walk from the ferry, views out across the water and mountains, and a park across the road with picnic tables. An old-fashioned seaside hotel appeal. The helpful host let us leave our luggage after we checked out until the ferry departure. It even had laundry facilities. It was also near Food COOP, and bus stops.

The only things I can suggest is a towel rack in the bathroom and another couple of dishtowels (only one provided).

The property is quite old and dated. The kitchen looks new but everything else has The fell off being in someone’s grandparents apartment. That said it was clean and everything worked.

The Shorehouse should have a complete renovation. The apartments are in dire need of being updated. Thankfully we were there for one night only. Would not stay there again.

Mixed blessings

Flat clean and comfortable

No coffee or tea. Curtains falling of rails. The windows are not very clean.. It was overpriced for a tired hotel with no little extras. Not worth more than 70 pounds, cost 110 pounds. The entrance was also not very appealing. The lock of the room was broken. So the security was very poor as the front door was left open...as in wide open.

Great location handy for shops and amenities. located less than 5 minutes from the ferry terminal and ideal location for travelling left towards the castle, Arran Aromatics, cheese shop etc, or right to Lamlash, Whiting Bay, Lagg etc.

A great location with fab views

Location was excellent and owner was very friendly and helpful. Great that there is parking and near the shop. Views were fabulous.

A tiny, fairly irrelevant thing for us as we are a family, but if people were staying and needing privacy in a bedroom it may be more of an issue. The master bedroom door didn't shut well properly. It probably needs rehung. Whilst it's self catering, little additions would go a long way e g. Additional toilet roll, dish towel, a pair of scissors etc. But these are really small things for improvement and didnt impact our stay.

Great location, lovely sea views

Wonderful location, right by the shore, just a short distance from the ferry terminal. Great sea views. Good value for Arran, which is overall an expensive island. There's a lot to like here, as long as you read the reviews and manage your expectations accordingly.

A few small things could make the place more appealing, including simple repairs, bit of redecorating, emptying the overflowing ashtray by the entrance door etc. The building and backyard in general needs some tlc.

Fun weekend and we would stay again for another group event

Great location close to the ferry terminal. Supermarket nearby for supplies. Parking also available. Ideal location for our large party of 10 people taking 4 apartments. Jim was very helpful and accommodating with our check out.

wi-fi signal was weak. Linen and towels could be upgraded but we would come back again anyway for another group visit.

Great location on the sea front, clean throughout. Comfy beds, kitchen area equipped with tea/coffee and enough stuff to prepare simple meals, Smart TV, good WI-FI, shower/bathroom all fine, place to leave our bikes indoors, very nice host
