Good location and easy check-in but deposit of £150 sketchy and kitchen underwhelming

Location and self check in. Host Very responsive.

Had to transfer a £150 as deposit before I would receive check in information/ locker code. Even though we got the money back, it shouldn't be necessary in my opinion. Also conditions for the refund not totally clear. Kitchen is not very well equipped and dishes and other cook ware wasnt really clean. Layout of place was not as comfy as expected.

Not as nice as what it could be.

Communication with Matt, the owner, was friendly and no issues. In a good way, we didn't need him for anything, but we could easily contact him if required. We got a low price for a 2 bedroom flat. Easy to park in street, ready access to local transport, lots of shops near by. The rooms are generally nicely decorated, kitchen has full amenities and facilities. Nothing luxurious, but nice enough and we just required a 'simple base'.

Major issues - a window in the main bedroom is badly cracked and all taped up. This was mentioned in a previous review a few months ago. It's not really acceptable and you would think it would be immediately repaired. It also did seem to make that room feel colder. There is a single seat in the living room, which has a long seat cushion - sad to say it was pretty filthy and had a big stain on the seating part of it. The rest of the flat seems clean, not sure how this is missed. This is in contrast to the 2 seater sofa which was clean and comfy with nice cushions. Minor issues - both clocks don't work (just needs new batteries I assume?). Bathroom could maybe do with a small shelf near the sink to put things on, and perhaps a small towel rail - there seems to be plenty of room for this. There is a small lockable cabinet against a wall but seems to serve no purpose. The decor of the flat is generally ok, maybe needs a bit of touching up in places. The doors could maybe be painted to look more welcoming. The window and cushion issues are very disappointing and for me, really need addressing. It is strange - some areas of the flat are nice (eg. effort has been made to put nice pictures on the wall), but just seems to be inconsistent compared to the other issues highlighted. In it's current state, I can't give it more than a 5, but it should potentially be an 8+. I have stayed in similar types of accommodation in Belfast and no reason why this can't be as good as them.

A gorgeous little getaway in beautiful North Belfast.

It was a cosy and comfy little flat. Being so close to the park and lakes at the waterworks was fantastic.

Excellent accomodation and great value for money.

Clinically clean apartment with all the comforts of home. Convenience store, off licence, great home bakery and numerous takeaways within a minutes walk. Excellent bus links to city centre just outside the front door, five minute trip takes you to the vibrant heart of Belfast. Safe car parking and good communication from Matt the host.

Neighbourhood was a tad run down but at no time did I feel threatened or at risk and the parking was safe. No real complaint or dislike to be honest, just don't expect vibrant night life outside the front door.

A good base to explore the city from, but not too quiet!

The flat is blessed with some great little places nearby - the bakery two doors up, the co-op, the bus stop on your doorstep and especially recommend O'Reilly's cafe! A half hour walk to the centre of town, even if the walk's not that pretty, and Matt was a great communicator and host. The flat is spacious and makes a good stopping place to explore the city from, but it's not super comfy for staying and relaxing in for the day I would say. Good shower too!

The traffic noise from the busy Antrim Road is loud and constant, especially as one of the windows in the main bedroom is missing a glass pane and is covered with plastic sheet. The bed would probably be comfy for a single occupant but wasn't great for two people sharing (we're little people too!) There was also a fairly strong damp smell when we first arrived, even with a window open to air out the flat during the day it was still noticeable every time we came home.

Fab weekend

We had a lovely stay. The flat was comfy clean and had everything we needed. Matt, the host, was great at keeping in touch and gave us lots of useful information. The location was great and had buses right outside the door. Fab place to stay for a weekend break.

Lovely stay.

The property was clean and comfortable with a nice sitting room and good sized bedrooms/ bathroom. Shower was nice which is always a win! Matt was very helpful even after I messed up the booking initially!

Not much really, it was an older building but in good nick. The location was a bit of a walk into town but not an issue for us. Maybe 20min walk.

Convenient, clean and comfortable - the ideal base for a work trip or city break

The simple, stylish decor with everything matching, the cleanliness - which was really terrific - and the fact that it was so well equipped. Power sockets everywhere, good wi-fi and everything you could ever need in the kitchen. Not relevant to me, but it’s well equipped for a baby too. The location right next to bus stops is great. The landlord is really good at keeping in touch and offering help with finding what you need for a good stay in Belfast.

The locks on both the street door and the main front door seemed a little bit flimsy, a sturdier and more elegant main door to the flat would enhance it a lot. The rubbish in the street behind the flat is pretty horrible, not a nice view from the windows, but this is not the landlord’s fault!

Location was good with easy access to City either by Public Transport or walking.

Untidy outside area and stairs up to flat not clean and tidy.Needed a good hoover. Two plates in the kitchen badly chipped Better cosmetic attention all round I.e cracked floor tiles in bathroom, socket positioning could have been better around the TV specifically. Cushion single chair in lounge was grubby.... General lack of attention in these areas

Liked everything about this flat like a home from home so welcoming and cosy. Unfortunately we had An accident on way down and had to have an extra guest after a hospital visit and Matt was so understanding and accommodating enquiring through text if we were OK and needed anything at all. 20 out of 10 easily for our experience at eia street. Area surrounding it amazing loads of shops take aways bars and wee bakery. Close to city centre and lovely and quiet no noise at all and beds were so comfy we all had great nights sleep. Flat spotless and everything there you would need. Will definitely be back next time we in belfast.

Great value and location.

Comfortable beds, everything in the flat that we needed and good location for getting into town. Local shops, takeaways, and bars all close by. If driving, there always seemed to be space to the side, on EIA St. Although it was keycode entry, Matt was in touch and available if needed. Would definitely recommend.

If I have to pick something, then the sofa isn't as comfortable as the chair and beds - not a big deal though!

Definitely recommend

The place is spotless, very close to the centre, only £1.60 on the bus to get to city centre. Host was great, making sure everything was fine for us. We are hoping to go back to Belfast in the new year and hoping the apartment is available as it was just amazing.

The flat was spacious, comfortable and clean. Only a short ride in an Uber to the centre. There was a bakery, shop and takeaway all within walking distance which was very helpful as we arrived late. The host had confirmed how to access the keys and entering the property was easy.

Good clean facilities in a good location

We stayed for 2 nights and were very happy with the apartment. It was spacious and clean with everything you could possibly need. We walked into the city centre which took about 25 minutes and took a taxi back which was about £6-perfect.

Nothing really to dislike, if I had to be picky the stairs in the building were in need of attention but I would imagine that is outside the control of the host.

Great wee flat in a top location, great value for money.

Great location if you want to get off the tourist route & try a slice of real Belfast, but on a 4 quid Uber from the centre (or 15 min walk) Nice tidy flat, great location, excellent value for money. Super friendly host who was very helpful with any requests. We were working so didn't really get to explore the area as much as we'd have liked, but Cassidy's pub just up the road is the real deal, & the bakery next door is ace!
