Family Apartment Dunas De Alvor

Excellent location and very comfortable

Closeness to beach, restaurants and supermarket. Pool was great, size of living area and having cleaning & toilet basics provided were appreciated.

Well equipped, air conditioned, self-catering accommodation in a great location. I stayed with my sister who is disabled, and she was able to move around the apartment without any help, which was great. We ate out more often than in, and only really used the kettle and toaster, but there is a built-in microwave and oven, dishwasher and a coffee machine with some coffee pods. The apartment is lovely, well laid out and bonus for us was having two bathrooms, so no waiting for each other to get a shower. There are two balconies, one with a table and two chairs off the main living space, and one from the twin bedroom, which has two chairs and a clothes airer. The main bathroom has a washing machine which came in very handy. Washing tabs and dishwasher tabs were provided, as were tea towels, a washing up sponge and washing up liquid. We really appreciated this thoughtful touch. We've done many self catering holidays and these things aren't always provided. We were there for 2 weeks, and so cleaning was included on one day, which was a bonus I didn't expect. The Dunas complex itself has a number of bars and eateries. Our favourites there are the Cactos II bar, and Tesouros Pizzaria. The staff are great. It's only a short walk to a couple of other bars and restaurants, snack bars, gift shops, chemist, clothes shops and a supermarket. Lots to choose from in the immediate area without having to venture up the hill to the village. We've been to Alvor many times over the last 16 years so we didn't go up to the village every day this time and largely stayed in that area. We got a taxi to the AquaCentre one day and Praia da Rocha on another day. I would definitely stay at this apartment again. The host, Angela, was very helpful and supported us when we had to make a change to our booking, and we were able to check in earlier than the standard check in time, which was absolutely brilliant, thank you!

Nothing I didn't like. I'd stay here again without hesitation. We bought a couple of shower caddies to store our shampoos etc. We left them in the bathroom cabinets, in case anyone else wishes to use them.

Good location, close to supermarket, bars and restaurants. Clean and roomy apartment suitable for 4 people.

The only thing that would improve things is an extra set of keys as at times not everyone wanted to come home at the same time
