Mai Morn Resort SHA Plus

This was overall the best stay of our Thailand trip. Absolutely marvelous! The whole property is extremely scenic and the view from our room made it worth it all. Although this resort at night, looks like an abandoned haunted property but that lowkey makes sense since it's overall surrounded with mountains. Rating: 9/10

Comfortable and Spacious Pool-Access Rooms with Wonderfully Helpful Staff Overall Rating: 4/5 We recently stayed at Mai Morn Resort and booked a total of four rooms: three Deluxe Rooms with Pool Access and one basic double room. The Highlights: We were very pleased to find that the rooms looked exactly as described in the pictures on Booking.com. The resort team was incredibly accommodating and allocated us three adjacent rooms, making it seamless for our group to step directly into the pool and spend time together. Each pool-access room features a full bed for two adults and a child's bed, which was shown in the pictures on booking.com but was not explicitly mentioned in our booking confirmation which only stated that there will be one full size bed sufficient for 2 adults. For an extra adult guest using the child's bed, the resort smoothly provided additional blankets, pillows, and towels for a fee of around 300 Thai Baht per adult, per night. The staff throughout our stay were very helpful, and we appreciated the two complimentary bottles of water provided daily. For extra drinking water required, we recommend purchasing bottled water from the convenience stores nearby. The air conditioning in the rooms worked wonderfully and kept us perfectly cool. Free Wi-Fi is accessible across most parts of the resort—it wasn’t lightning-fast, but it wasn’t slow either, proving perfectly adequate for everyday use. As a nice bonus for in-room entertainment, the TVs come with YouTube and Netflix inbuilt. For screen mirroring and casting your own content, the systems are highly compatible, with Android devices but not Apple devices. Dining & Location Adaptability: The resort is situated in a very peaceful area, offering a quiet alternative to the bustling energy of places like the Patong area. Because it is safely tucked away, there are no convenience stores, massage shops, tour agencies, or restaurants within easy walking distance.

Opportunities for Improvement: The property has a fantastic, natural foundation and offers great value, though a few adjustments and tips can ensure an even better stay: * Property & Pool Maintenance: The facilities are a bit older, and the bathrooms would benefit from some routine maintenance to address loose or rusty showerhead fixtures. Additionally, the daily swimming pool maintenance could be more thorough, as we noticed quite a bit of sand, pebbles, and leaves left in the water. Also, all the mattresses provided were very hard, in contrast to what one would expect in a property rated as 4-star. The mattress quality can definitely be improved. * Housekeeping Attention: The daily room housekeeping service could be slightly more meticulous. While fresh towels are reliably provided every day upon request, the team could focus more on deep cleaning details like dusting, sweeping, and changing out bedsheets and doormats more frequently than every alternate day. * Amenity Consistency: Bath gel and shampoo are conveniently provided in eco-friendly refillable bottles, though upgrading the product quality would be a great touch. Additionally, it would be highly convenient if the hotel could provide hand wash and top up travel-sized dental kits regularly. Hand wash was not provided; and Dental kits were provided at the beginning of our stay but were not replenished, which required us to purchase our own hand wash and toiletries at a local convenience store (which we ultimately had to leave behind to avoid luggage leakage). * Nature & Safety Notes: Because the resort features beautiful, lush green surroundings, ground-floor rooms naturally attract local insects, millipedes, or cockroaches if doors are left open. We highly recommend keeping both the front door and the balcony doors tightly closed at all times to prevent any pests from wandering inside.
