Review for Glen’s Cottage in Vianden, Luxembourg: A charming and picturesque dogfriendly cottage

A charming dog lover’s paradise in beautiful Vianden We had a wonderful two-week stay in this charming, quietly located, well-equipped cottage. Peacefully located yet close to Vianden, it’s surrounded by nature and perfect for walks — our beagles were in heaven! The house is tastefully decorated, quiet, with a comfortable bed and a fantastic kitchen. Evenings on the terrace were magical. Glen is a great host with excellent communication. Highly recommended for nature and dog lovers!

Again, a relaxed stay in the middle of the woods!

This was the second time we came to this property, so we were familiar with the area and the facility. Our dog recognised the house and happily ran up the stairs upon arrival. It is in the woods and you don't see nothing but trees (or birds and squirrels...) The house is well equipped with full kitchen utensils, BBQ set, coffee machine, water cooker, dish washer, washing machine... You can really live here. The village of Vianden is a good walking distance of 20-25 minutes and it is nice to do with a dog.

Exceptional

The location of the cottage is beautiful. On the hill overlooking Vianden only a 15 minute walk from the city center (a walk which initially looks more steep and challenging then it actually is) The cottage is very well equipped and was very clean. Although the location is slightly remote, it was very easy to find. The owner is very pleasant and friendly. If you want to go and explore Vianden and it's surroundings for a few days, We would definitely recommend staying at the Vianden cottage.

Relaxing and BBQ weekend in the middle of forest

As soon as Glen stepped out of his car and greeted us (including our dog), we knew that the weekend couldn't go wrong! He gave us a guided tour inside the cozy cottage, literally in the middle of forest, yet still close enough to the village down the hill. We ordered some BBQ-ready food from Glen and oh, it was so delicious! The deck is covered, so you can BBQ even when it rains. The cottage is decorated with a lot of personal touch and it makes it very homy. In the morning, we could see squirrels and birds out of the windows. We are already planning to come back in the summertime!

The Apple TV. We couldn't figure it out.

Very cosy cottage

We really recommend staying at this cottage. The host is very friendly and helpful. He’s a real doglover and made sure our dog had everything she needed. It is fully equipes for a cosy getaway in the woods. It was also very clean.

Even in the pouring rain we loved it!

Secluded location. Set right in the forest with no visible neighbors. Well equipped, pleasant cabin with everything you need. Great fireplace and BBQ. The kitchen is set up properly for cooking. Beautiful hikes near by and the village and chateau are stunning.

Very cosy and well equipped for a self sufficient holiday. If isolation is not to your liking, it’s a short 1km walk down to town with the many restaurants and cafes. Log fire, large flat screen TV with Apple TV, German satellite TV and and X-BOX, Yamaha sound system which was awesome. Outside is a BBQ, fire pit with coals etc.

Superb

Well appointed property. Lovely secluded location in the forest. Glen is a very responsive and helpful host - nothing is too much trouble for him, and the food we ordered from him was excellent quality. A great place for a relaxed and peaceful get away, and great walks for our dogs.

The garden wasn’t enclosed so couldn’t let the dogs roam.

The host was very responsive, you have everything you need in the cottage and Vianden is amazing for hiking, visiting the Castle and even for a staycation during "these" times. I would definitely recommend it even in lockdown times.

What a lovely stay!!

A wonderful place!! In the middle of the beautiful surrounding nature you will find paradise here. Glen, the host, is exceptional!! So friendly and welcoming, you will love him! The cottage is very well equipped, if you don't find something in the kitchen, it's because you did not look well enough ;) I can only recommend a stay here!! I will come back for sure :)

Mooie locatie maar vreselijk vochtig dus oncomfortabel. Voor 200 euro per nacht verwacht ik minimaal comfort.

De locatie is prachtig

Het huis was ontzettend vochtig, (de eerste nachten zelfs vochtig beddengoed).Er stond een grote en kleine elektrische vochtvreter en die leegde we 2x per dag. Gelukkig was er een houtkachel en was er hout aanwezig zodat we het huisje wat droger kregen

Prachtige cottage, met heerlijk uitzicht

De locatie was prachtig, met een mooi uitzicht over het dorp - ver genoeg van het dorp af om te genieten van de rust, maar toch dichtbij genoeg qua bereikbaarheid. Het was heerlijk wakker worden met koffie op het balkon, met de frisse lucht die de slaap verdreef.

Zalig verblijf in de natuur met zicht op de vallei en aangenaam terras!

De locatie is perfect! Vianden centrum is bereikbaar te voet (dalen en klimmen). Met de hond elke morgen en avond een mooie rondje lopen via de weg in het bos. Aangename ligging, erg rustig. Wel geluid van verkeer, maar eens 17u gepasseerd, super rustig!

Het bed was voor ons een beetje smal. Maar het ging wel.

Een magisch verblijf op een droomlocatie

Wat een fantastische plek! De locatie is werkelijk adembenemend – bijna niet te overtreffen. Vanaf het eerste moment voelt het alsof je in een sprookje bent beland. De omgeving, het uitzicht en de sfeer van het huisje maken het tot een unieke ervaring. De cottage zelf straalt warmte en karakter uit. Het is overduidelijk een plek waar met liefde in geleefd is. Geen kil, onpersoonlijk vakantiehuis, maar een charmante en sfeervolle woning waar je je meteen thuis voelt. Ook de service van de host verdient een dikke pluim. Alles was keurig geregeld, van begin tot eind. Wat we bijzonder waardeerden, was dat het zelfs mogelijk werd gemaakt om eerder in te checken dan de officiële tijd. Dat extra beetje moeite maakte ons verblijf nóg aangenamer. Kortom: een absolute aanrader voor wie op zoek is naar een bijzondere en zorgeloze vakantie in een betoverende omgeving.

De badkamer is wat verouderd en de douchekraan is vrij gevoelig – het verschil tussen warm en koud is soms lastig af te stemmen. Het is dan ook meer een tip dan een klacht, want dit was echt het enige minpuntje tijdens een verder heerlijk verblijf.

Het bed is goed maar erg klein, oude en vieze koekenpannen en een ondermaatse douche.

Leuk huisje maar heeft wel wat aandacht nodig.

De locatie was fantastisch. Een hele rustige plek in de natuur maar toch op loop afstand van het stadje. Huisje was ook ruim.

Het was vervelend dat er schimmel was in de slaapkamer die je ook kon ruiken. Deze hebben ook een keer behandeld maar het kwam snel weer terug. Het huis was ook niet heel schoon met stof en met her er der wat oude rommel opgeslagen, zoals onder het bed.

Heerlijk boshuisje vlak bij het centrum, erg knus!

Heerlijke plek, dicht bij het centrum maar toch verscholen in het bos. Fijn dat de hond mee mocht, er was overal aan gedacht! Het is prachtig daar en een super plek voor een weekendje weg. Aan alles is gedacht

Het kan vrij koud worden maar dat hadden we gelukkig voorzien (neem warme truien mee!). Verder zijn sommige dingen niet het nieuwste meer maar wij vonden dat niet zo erg

Prachtig huisje met alles wat je nodig kan hebben

Fantastisch huisje met een super locatie midden in het bos en toch heel dichtbij het mooie stadje. Het huisje is voorzien van alle gemakken. Normaal gesproken neem ik vanalles mee, hier heb je werkelijk alleen je kleding nodig, en wat te eten maar de rest is aanwezig. TOP. En wat een verscheidenheid aan vogeltjes komen er op je balkon. Locatie is ook super, er komt vrijwel geen mens of auto voorbij. Aan het eind van het bospad kan je binnendoor naar het gezellige centrum van Vianden lopen.

Het 2 persoonsbed is wat smal, maar ach dat maakt het ook wel knus. Ruimte voor breder is er niet.

Prachtig gelegen chalet tegen de heuvel van Vianden waar men heerlijk kan vertoeven na het hiken in ‘t Müllerthal.
