Villa Coral Bee - walking distance to Coral Bay Beach

The location is brilliant: Coral bay beach is just 5 min walking from the villa, a big supermarket is 7 min walking up the street, the restaurants and bars are just next door. Villa is very big, enough space for 5 persons. Living room is so spacious. Swimming pool is very nice with the shower outside. Water pressure in the showers was very good on both floors. Air conditioning is very good.

The territory around the villa was gravel instead of grass, so it was very uncomfortable to walk without shoes there. We saw big cockroaches that live in the barn next to the house. And they come into the house easily. Tv doesn’t show anything. Internet is very slow for apps like Netflix. There was no bath gel and shampoos.

We liked being able to walk to the beach and to numerous nearby bars and restaurants. The villa and its grounds were large.

Arriving at 23.00, we drove up down and around Coral Bay Avenue for 40 minutes trying to find the villa. We eventually stumbled upon a torn sign pointing the way. Had we been informed that access was by an UNLIT passageway between an abandoned building site and what appeared to be a scrapyard, we would have found it immediately. The dingy, litter strewn passage contained a serious trip hazard, particularly in the dark. Several lights inside and outside the villa did not work. Indeed, in one of the bedrooms, the bulb and shade had been removed and left on the floor. There were no instructions or information in the villa although Blue Tack on the walls by the front door and above the waste bin suggested that there had been some at one time. As a result, amongst other things, we were unable to use the TV (in any case, one remote did not work even when the batteries were changed) or the dishwasher (manufacturer's instructions were present but we still could not make it work). The outside area was unkempt and scruffy. The pool contained numerous insects and bits of vegetation. We tried to clean it each day but it badly needed vacuuming. We did not see a pool maintenence person. The pump seemed to stop working part way through our stay and there was no outside water supply towards the end. The pool surround had numerous bird droppings which seemed to have been there for a long time. A tatty, flimsy wicker fence separated the pool area from a coffee shop car park. In the living area, there were only flimsy lace curtains, meaning a lack of privacy at night. The inside of the villa was visible from the main road. The suites in the living room were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on. The sinks were badly stained. We tried to clean them but the absence of cleaning materials meant that the improvement was limited. Bags for used toilet paper and general waste would have been useful. There was little or no hot water in a morning (solar source?)
