House by the River

We had a wonderful stay at House by the River. The location is fantastic, just 1.1 km from the P3 entrance area of Plitvice Lakes, which meant we could leave the car at the house and forget about driving or finding parking for our visit to the park. One of the highlights of our stay was Bojan, the owner. He is incredibly knowledgeable about Plitvice Lakes and gave us excellent recommendations on the best way to plan our route. He even drew us a handmade map explaining the park and the different paths. Honestly, that map was so useful and so beautifully done that he should consider patenting it! It was one of the most helpful things we received during our trip. The house itself is very comfortable, clean and cosy, with everything we needed for our stay. The location, surrounded by nature and so close to the park, makes it a perfect base for visiting Plitvice. There is also a restaurant in the neighbourhood where we had the chance to enjoy delicious fresh fish and very good meat, which was incredibly convenient after a full day exploring the park. We would definitely recommend House by the River, not only for its excellent location and comfortable accommodation, but especially for the warm welcome and invaluable local knowledge provided by Bojan. A truly memorable stay! We really reconnected with Nature!!

A really delicious breakfast – I’ve never had a tastier omelette 👌 The host was very helpful and friendly. He shared the best walking routes where you can see the most beautiful views of the national park. Thank you so much – our family will definitely be back!

The host is super friendly and welcoming, ready to help when needed. Definitely, one of the best we experienced. Breakfast can be ordered and paid separately, with fresh ingredients from the garden and surrounding farms. Really tasty and good price. Great tips in what to visit in the park and where to eat. Great initiative in renovating the house and renting it our to guests visiting the park!

Due to the studio/large room was in the attick, the lack of air conditioning and the high temperatures > 30 C, it was only possible to be in the room after dinner. I may have missed that information when booking the room. There are 3 rooms in the property, one in the ground floor, and 2 in the attick. One in the attick has a kitchen and the other does not.
