Black Rock Beach Resort, Millendreath - lovely sea views, private beach

What a lovely, clean and well equipped property. Such a pleasant and lovely surprise when entering the property to see a spacious and welcoming apartment. The setting is perfect and so peaceful with the beach close by.

A wonderful place to stay. Beautiful setting with great sea view. Handy beach bar and cafe opened on our last day. Will be back, we loved it.

Upon arrival the site manager was rather elusive and it was a cleaner who was more help in answering any questions we had. With no Internet access owing to low or no signal she helped find us wear we were staying and I can't praise her enough. Now apart from this I can only recommend this holiday Village. It's as it says right on a private beach, has a cafe which isn't great but adequate, and a beach bar which is really nice with good and friendly staff and a good range of drinks. The accommodation is comfortable with a good size terrace to relax and just look out to sea.

A lovely area to visit. Villa is in an ideal location. Lots to do. A comfortable apartment. A large balcony/patio area with amazing sea views. We really enjoyed our trip and would definitely come back.

We had a great week in this lovely, friendly, quiet (but popular) resort with fabulous views of the sea and woodland. The coastal walk to Looe became an almost daily ritual. The only negative was the accommodation which was pretty tired and shabby and really not very clean. I’d read reviews that had mentioned this but hoped that during a global pandemic, this would have improved. I didn’t contact anyone as felt that if that was the standard during a time of having extra precautions and protocols, there was little hope :-( We took our own bedding which we were glad about. Would suggest taking a clothes airer too as the one provided is weeny.

It was a lovely comfortable stay in the villa, great views. Comfortable bed, great place to relax. Quiet and peaceful. Couple of minutes by car to Looe. Ten minutes to Polperro, great little fishing village. Would definately recommend staying here. Will go again no problem.

Fantastic break staying in this hillside villa. Views are fantastic and the valley is just gorgeous. We've stayed in the holiday village previously and just love it. So peaceful and beautiful. The villa itself, is a little tired but seems like maybe its a work in progress, hopefully the bathroom is the next priority. Point to note, if you're taking your canine friend, as we did, there is no gate on the balcony so we had to use the patio table to block the gap but also very conveniently located for his bedtime pee is a patch of grass just a few steps down from the villa. Overall though, everything we needed was on hand and we had a wonderful stay. Thankyou.

Fab location , right next to beach , elevated position so great sea views, huge balcony brilliant for the dogs, digs allowed on the beach before 9 and after 6 without a lead , so it was great at 6pm all the dogs playing together on the beach , doggy heaven , but Seaton beach and downderry beach close by allow dogs without leads day and night, perfect size apartment for us , it's not a 5* apartment but you don't want that if you have dogs in there , it's perfectly adequate and comfortable, had a fab stay , would stay again anytime ♥️

Before booking I read the reviews including the ones that mentioned issues with cleaning, but I thought that they were written by people who like to find fault. I have never before in my life written a negative review but on this occasion I feel like I have a duty to inform others so that the cleanliness issues don't ruin anybody else's holidays,l. This is especially important during this time of Covid 19 were cleanliness is even more important. Upon arrival at the chalet I found very large cobwebs in all rooms around windows, curtains, corners of the rooms and even in the kitchen food cupboards. We also discovered a tangerine on the floor between the sofa and the setee. I also found that one of the bedrooms has a sweaty smell and later discovered dirty socks left by previous guests in the inches of dust down the side of bed. I also found inches, yes inches of dust behind the bed. With the amount of dust found I would estimate that it had been years since it was throughly cleaned. I took photographs and sent them to the owner so that they could see the extent of the issue but the owner did not seem bothered and failed to get back in contact with me. The chalet is in a fantastic location and could be a brilliant holiday rental if the cleaning issues are resolved. Unfortunately the cleaning issues ruined my holiday and I did not even receive any apology from the owner. I would not recommend the apartment and I certainly will not be staying there again.

Lovely location , we were able to bring our dogs on holiday too which was great. Chalet was clean and well presented , kitchen was modern and also had a washer/ dryer which I found very handy ☺️ Lots of great walks and the beach was lovely

On our arrival to the property there was a little confusion with our check in time and unfortunately the villa was not ready and had not been cleaned from the previous guest who had left it rather dirty, this was rectified with a simple phone call and 3 ladies arrived within the hour and cleaned the villa to a very high standard. The whole area is lovely with access to the private beach a short walk away. This property is advertised as suitable for pets, the only drawback was there was not a gate on the patio area. Although the Villa has fantastic views of the sea this does come with the drawback of being on the second level with around 30 uneven steps with no lighting at night can be very dangerous. Anyone with small children on the beach be aware we did find several dinner plate sized clear jelly fish believed to be Moon jellyfish. We would very much like to stay here again and enjoyed our week.

After booking I experienced bad hip pain which made the 30+steps to the property difficult. We found that almost all of the equipment in the kitchen had to be washed before use, and one cupboard had mouse droppings in it. There were no mixing spoons, plastic or wood. The undersheet, when we stripped the bed before leaving, was filthy.

The villa is in a fantastic location with stunning views and has everything you need,the WiFi was a blessing as there is no phone signal but that was also a blessing for a peaceful break. Will be returning.

We had a wonderful time and is a very comfortable accommodation with great views of the sea. i would definitely recommend and book this apartment again.

The owner provided excellent communication both prior to our stay and during. The property is in a beautiful location, it has a lovely patio area which gives stunning views and is so peaceful at night.....loved being able to relax and hear the waves crashing onto the beach. The neighbors were absolutely lovely people which was very nice. There is quite a few steps to get to the property so it is not suitable for a wheelchair user, pram, or limited mobility etc. The kitchen is modern and has everything you would need, although do take an iron as the one provided is extremely old (there is also no ironing board). The living room could do with a bit of an update but it provides everything you need. The bedrooms are adequate although only one wardrobe but there is plenty of drawers. The front bedroom can become very hot as the sun rises in the morning, there is black out curtains up to reduce the light coming through. The phone signal is terrible, the villa would benefit from WiFi. The ONLY bad part of the holiday was how dirty the villa was on arrival. It was thick with dust and cobwebs everywhere. The draining board is black and the kitchen looked as if it had been given a quick wipe down. The bathroom was the worst with it being extremely dirty with thick black muck around the taps, bath, toilet and thick muck on the window sill and skirting boards/door etc. It would appear as if it had been wiped over around the middle of the villa and it had defiantly not been cleaned. When we notified the owner she apologized and did send the cleaner who had a look and also apologized stating it was a ''new cleaner'' who had been and she had not checked afterwards. I didn't insist on it being cleaned as I had done most of it myself by the time the cleaner had arrived as I just could not use the bathroom until it had been cleaned. Having to clean everything is not the best way to start your holiday. Overall the villa is in a fantastic location, minutes from the beach, bar and a few shops, it would benefit from a little update and refresh in places, and I would personally be sacking the current cleaner and looking for new cleaner. The lack of cleanliness really did let it down, hence only 3 stars. However I would stay again if it could be guaranteed the Villa would be clean.

Good points: Spectacular views over the hills and sea to the side. Only a 2-3 min walk to the beach. Short drive to the town of Looe. When we had a problem with a shower, it was promptly dealt within 2 days. Bad points: The place is dirty! It’s only being cleaned in the middle, the skirting boards are covered with dust and mould. Cob webs in every corner. The washing up tray was so dirty I ended up just drying the dishes on kitchen towels. Bathroom was grubby. The bath plug was swimming in the glass for brushing teeth in some sort of yellow fluid. The plastic table on the decking had 2 solidified tissues stuck to it, disgusting to sit and enjoy the views. The duvets and pillows were very lumpy and the bed linen was 100% synthetic. Hot and uncomfortable in summer. There was no Wi-Fi, and no reception on the virgin network, so we had absolutely no access to internet throughout the holiday.

The villa was in a superb position with a lovely sea view. The property itself wasn't as clean as I would have expected and had a smell of mould/damp when we opened the door. However despite the weather we did have a pleasant stay.

Was quite clean but could do with a real spring clean, also needs updating and some TLC and if you have children with you a DVD player would be good as there is not one there. There was no hot water out of the taps only very Luke warm even with the immersion heater on so had to keep boiling the kettle to wash up with but could get a hot from the shower though. Phone reception was dreadful. However the views were great, right on top of the beech and the food at the local eatery was really nice..yes I would stay at this complex again..but just not in that poticular apartment.

On our way home from a third May half term holiday in Millendreath, 2nd time staying at this villa. As usual beautifully clean and comfortable villa with all you need for a great holiday, amazing views. so relaxing sitting on the patio listening to the birds singing and the sea with a glass of wine it’s like paradise! Very close to the beach with a stream where lots of children play my daughter made lots of friends and was always occupied, We will be back again I’m sure. If you are thinking of booking this property go for it you won’t regret it

Great area to explore from. No telephone signal in the apartment but just about got one at the end of the patio ... this lead to a nice, peaceful week away 😎
