Casa Marta is a beautiful and spacious 18th century stone house, recently (2004) completely renovated and distributed over three floors, with a total of 105 m². It is equipped with two televisions (one with satellite), radio, DVD and CD player, etc. A gas central heating system has also been installed. And, of course, a working fireplace graces the second floor: what would a country house be without it? The house is completely furnished with new and antique furniture (19th century Tuscan furniture). This house is located in a small mountain village called Pascoso (municipality of Pescaglia, province of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy) in the Apuan Alps Park, 700 m above sea level. Pascoso has only 100 inhabitants (plus two restaurants and a shop) and is so small, with such narrow stone streets, that cars only enter the village via a short section of the main road. Almost all the houses in the village, including their gables, are built of stone, and the smooth stones of the streets were laid hundreds of years ago. Pascoso is a paradise for hikers; moreover, it is not far from the Tuscan cities of art: Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Siena are respectively 24, 48, 96 and 144 km away. Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, two of Italy's most famous beaches, are 48 km away (of which 24 km by motorway). Please note: the house is set on a hill, with three floors on one side and two on the other.
