The cottage was cosy and comfortable with good facilities. Bus stop very near with regular buses to Chesterfield and Dronfield, so I didn't need to use my car during my stay. Lovely walks around the private estate and fishing lakes.
Lovely big bath and rain shower but no removable shower head for washing hair etc. The hot water could vary in temp as you used it.

The location was ideal for the places we wanted to visit in the area. Although there were builders working on site their instrusion was minimal. We had been warned in advance and an offer was made to change our dates but we were happy to stay as we were. It was a lovely relaxing and quiet place to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed it, very laid back without too many rules and regulations. Up to the about 2011 my family had owned Grangewood Farm just outside the village for the previous 100 plus years and it was a trip really to view family graves and revisit places of my childhood from when my ancestors lived here.
The accommodation was small for three adults but only a base to sleep and for breakfast really. It would have been helpful to have a fold up table to use as it was difficult to balance our food on our knees and nowhere to place a cup off coffee except the floor. There was a small yard at the rear of the property with lovely lights around the fence but on our first evening the table had a shovel covered in cement (?) placed on it so it was not possible to eat our there. By breakfast time the following day this had been removed but the table still was not clean enough to use to eat on and the window frames alongside it were full of spider's webs. The yard just needs a good sprucing up and then it would be ideal.

Quiet location. Well-equipped kitchen. Ample free parking .
The shower controls needed a thermostat. It was difficult to regulate the temperature. Limited headroom on one side of bedroom due to sloping roof. One socket, one extension lead, and one lightbulb weren't working. These should have been checked on a regular (monthly?) basis.
