About this house rental
Typical Salento house renovated with modern comforts. Private courtyard and terrace on the upper floor overlooking the village. The sandy beach, the most beautiful in Salento, called 'Maldive del Salento' is 4 km away. The house has a private courtyard on the ground floor of about 40sqm and one in common in front of the entrance and closed by a gate that guarantees a pleasant privacy. The private courtyard is suggestively illuminated and equipped to eat outside on warm summer evenings among the flowering plants and under the bougainvillea pergola. easy and safe parking for nearby cars and for medium-sized cars it is possible to park just outside the entrance court. The house consists of a living room of about 25 square meters on the ground floor, equipped with a large sofa with chaise-longue, stereo system and plasma TV, a large kitchen of about 18 square meters, where there is a large and ancient fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, stove, large fridge / freezer. Both in the living room and in the kitchen there are ceiling fans. On the ground floor there is also a bedroom with a star vault of about 15 square meters with a double bed and a large wardrobe and air conditioning. On the first floor there is a bathroom with services and two showers. The staircase also leads to the terrace of about 50 square meters covered by a metal structure and reeds and equipped with a sofa / bed and mosquito net and relaxing chairs. To promote privacy, white linen curtains protect the large outdoor area. From the terrace there is access to the second room of about 20sqm with air conditioning and king size bed c. The house is located in the historic center of a pretty Salento village in the Capo di Leuca area.

La dimora del vento è una casa molto accogliente e spaziosa, ricca di particolari ricercati che rimandano ad un’antica casa salentina. È ubicata in un contesto e un paese tipici del Sud che non la valorizzano appieno.
La casa presenta numerosi pregi, fra cui: gli ampi spazi disponibili, un'ampia cucina, un gradevolissimo giardinetto interno nel quale si può comodamente mangiare, una terrazza esposta ad ovest dalla quale si può godere del tramonto e della brezza serale. In tutti gli spazi si apprezza la ricercatezza dei dettagli e le numerose piante contribuiscono a creare una piacevole atmosfera.
Tuttavia è necessario sottolineare alcuni aspetti che andrebbero migliorati, come la carenza di alcuni elettrodomestici: infatti è sprovvista di forno elettrico, forno a microonde e bollitore. I rimanenti elettrodomestici presentavano i segni del tempo; la pulizia generale ha presentato alcuni aspetti carenti: la tovaglia, i cuscini, la tappezzeria del divano e le tende erano visibilmente macchiati; lo stendibiancheria nel giardinetto, pur essendo antico e quindi in linea con lo stile della casa, ha lasciato nei capi stesi tracce di ruggine.
Un ultimo aspetto da sottolineare è l’assenza della porta del bagno, sostituta da una tenda: la cosa non è chiaramente percettibile dalle immagini.
Ciononostante, questi aspetti non ci hanno impedito di trascorrere un piacevole soggiorno nella dimora del Vento. L’host si è dimostrato molto cortese e disponibile alle richieste. Ci ha riservato una buona accoglienza facendoci trovare un piccolo presente di benvenuto.

Nous avons fait beaucoup de recherches avant d'arrêter notre choix sur cette belle maison de village. Notre instinct ne nous avait pas trompé! La maison a une âme pugliese qui nous a totalement séduits.
Nous nous sommes immédiatement sentis "chez nous". La maison a été restaurée avec goût, simplicité et sincérité. Les matières, les couleurs, les objets choisis, ... Tout est simplement beau. Nous étions six, deux adultes, trois jeunes filles et un petit garçon, chacun de nous s'est épanoui pleinement et a profité des différents espaces, selon l'énergie du moment, de la journée, ...
Morciano est un village paisible, nous avons la nostalgie des délicieux pains et taralli de la Nadia !

La Dimora del Vento is exactly as you see it on the website, minus some bits of furniture here and there. I spent 5 weeks there and it was home from home, comfortable and welcoming.
Host helpful and neighbours lovely too!! Morciano is a small and quiet village but perfectly placed for nearby beaches and other villages. It has all you need, supermarket, baker, butcher etc.
