Quiet, friendly, historic, luxurious Breakfast was great

Incredibly charming turn of the century home with gorgeous decor repurposed into an equal parts elegant and cosy bed and breakfast. Complimentary access to hotpool, sauna, continental breakfast with homemade bread/jams and complimentary mini fridge. Pretty great value, all things considered.

Being a re-purposed turn of the century home, The Fern and Thistle does not have directly attached ensuite bathrooms to their rooms. Instead, guests are allocated their own private bathrooms elsewhere in the house. This wasn't an issue for us personally, but the lack of directly attached ensuite bathroom may be worth considering for older guests with mobility issues or families with young children/infants who may need the toilet more frequently/at night. Somewhat unavoidable and entirely understandable but all the reasonable explanations in the world don't resolve logistics.

Generous proportioned room with all the comforts needed after a long day travelling. We made the most of the hot tub and appreciated the little touches of warm, fluffy robes and drinks station.

nice property hot tub a bonus was aewsome to see not only coffee /tea/soft drinks and avaliable beers on offer and lovely continteal breakfast

parking wasnt the best for us on motor bikes - advert was with private bath room but was down the hallway and toilet was down hallway and up some stairs not the property fault but wasnt declared till after booking and payment but managable
