About this cabin rental
Whiterock Conservancy is a 5,500-acre, nonprofit land trust dedicated to providing educational and recreational opportunities for the public, improving and protecting the land through conservation, and demonstrating sustainable farming methods.
Explore over 40 miles of hiking, running, mountain biking, and equestrian trails that meander through prairie, oak savanna, wetland and river valley; set up camp in our RV or tent camping areas; or enjoy the comforts of home in one of our vacation rentals. Enjoy the countryside and wildlife, and some of the darkest skies in Iowa for stargazing. Visit the Historic Garst Farmstead to learn about agricultural history or check out one of our multiple fishing ponds. We have fishing equipment, mountain bikes and kayaks/canoes (river level and weather permitting) for rent.

A one-mile hike in, this cabin was moved into the valley from 805 Main Street, Coon Rapids many years ago.
For the more adventurous - check out this hike in only cabin int he middle of Whiterock Conservancy! 805 River Cabin was moved into the valley from 805 Main Street, Coon Rapids, many years ago. This primitive cabin sits between a spring-fed pond and the Middle Raccoon River in a beautiful, yet secluded valley full of wildlife. Deer, wild turkey, coyote, beaver, and songbirds fill the surrounding woods and nearby clearing.

BEDROOMS: One room, 6 twin sleeping platforms with foam mattresses. Bring your own bedding.
BATHROOMS: Port-a-potty outhouse, solar shower. NO water and NO electricity. Toilet paper is provided.
OUTDOORS: Great for fishing trips and horseback rides! Includes firepit, and picnic table. Horses can also be kept at the cabin either in one of the two pens, on the tie line or by closing the gate and allowing them to roam within the small fenced in area surrounding the cabin. The large yard area could be used to pitch a tent for additional sleeping area. Tent camping is $15 per night per tent.
PARKING: NO vehicles allowed. Hike-in, bike-in or horseback-ride in only. Approximately one-mile hike. Park at River Campground for easy trail access. Whiterock Conservancy is no longer able to provide daily gator rentals. 805 River Cabin is accessible by hiking, biking or horseback ride only.
Cell coverage may not be available from all providers.
FIREWOOD: Each location has a fire ring and firewood. Fires are allowed in fire rings only, please do not move the fire rings. No fireworks allowed anywhere on Whiterock Conservancy property.
