The view and the breakfast choices. Really nice hosts

The suite contains an incredibly comfortable King Size bed in a spacious bedroom space, including a small balcony (with table and wo chairs) and a small lounge (again with table and two chairs) all of which looks out across the water towards Lyttelton and Christchurch. There is a small but functioning kitchenette area including fridge/freezer, microwave and sink with a bit of benchtop space, and then, there is a whole additional lounge room for your personal use, which again features a balcony with table and chairs, and the same stunning views. The bathroom was clean, light and spacious It was noticeably cold and windy during our stay, but for some reason, the building was perfectly sheltered, and we were able to sit out in the sun and enjoy the views. Whilst the local shopping centre is well within walking distance, a car or bike is a must, as most things are some distance away; the ferry to Lyttelton is 10 minutes by car, Stoddarts cottage is too, but supermarket, an incredibly good fish and chip shop, and bar/restaurant (Two Thumb Brewing co) are all within easy walking distance. The ferry to Lyttelton is regular and efficient, and there is a bus service onwards to Christchurch, making it easy to have a day out. The views - out over the water, to the islands, and the mountains beyond are incredible, especially at sunrise and sunset, and as Lyttelton is a dynamic ocean going harbour there are always plenty of Cruise, Container and Tanker ship movements to keep you entertained

Once again, I am being asked to highlight negatives, and in this instance, there are none that were not anticipated. There is room for multiple cars to park onsite, but larger vehicles make it a little more difficult (as do unthinking drivers who take up two spaces on their own), but it really wasn't an issue - we just parked elsewhere on the driveway.

A gorgeous large room , with everything we wanted, and more. From the balcony, we had one of the best views over Lyttelton Harbour. And amazing to have a room where you could see both sunrise and sunset. Also a very good continental breakfast was provided.

The downside was a very long and winding road to get there. But we noticed there was a very regular ferry which quickly took you to Lyttelton (and back)

A wonderful place to stay. All spotless and clean, we enjoyed the hospitality, breakfast and great views by day and by night.
