About this resort
Ellis Lake Logrooms: Tamarack, Hemlock, and Oak. This room is the Tamarack. This is one large log cabin divided into 3 private units. Each room has its own private entrance.
The Tamarack Logroom has 2 double sized beds accommodating 4 adults, and a bathroom with a shower. This room is similar to a small motel room. Included in your room is a dorm size refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. This is the perfect space for those who are just traveling through or for those who do not need a kitchen for cooking. These are the most economical of all of our units as they are the smallest and located at the front of the property (If the sound of traffic is disturbing to you, we recommend that you have a look at our other cabins located further away from the road. Our Doghouse, Birch and Elm to name a few).
For your outdoors enjoyment you have a charcoal grill, picnic table and fire pit. from your cabin door it is just a short walk to our waterfront area on Ellis Lake or to our outdoor hot tub (common share) located in the woods beneath the pines and stars (sign up board located at office for 1 hour private usage). WIFI is located near the office area.

Ellis Lake is a 50+ acre lake enjoyed by the nature lover as you can sit on the lovely deck in the early morning hours and often hear the call of the loons and see the swans, ducks and cranes when they are back for the season. During the day our guests enjoy taking a rowboat out to try their skills at fishing for pike, bass, perch or bluegill. Take a canoe or paddle boat out and paddle around the lake to look for the painted turtles that often sun themselves on the logs near the shoreline. A swim raft sits in the middle of the lake enticing you to take a dip or enjoy the warmth of the sun. In the evening, enjoy a campfire at the fire pit and take in the billions of stars that often reflect on the water as there are no lights to hinder this magnificent view. No dogs allowed in this room.

Tamarack Cabin at the Ellis Lake Resort was quaint and cozy! The room was nicely up-kept, and the hosts provided glasses, coffee mugs, coffee and filters, and dish soap. We were greeted by fresh linens and cookies made from scratch at a local bakery! The shared hot tub is located in a secluded part of the woods so families can enjoy it in a private setting. There is private access to Ellis Lake with kayaks, canoes, a paddle boat, and a diving raft in the middle, all included in your stay. This resort is located within a short driving distance of all the major attractions of the lakeshore, including Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, and more wineries than you can count. Overall, we had a great stay and will probably be back!

Enjoyed that there was no tv and an awesome hot tub. Owners were wonderful as were their staff. Special treats when we arrived. Very much enjoyed ourselves

We LOVED our cabin experience! Everything was clean, the hot tub was such a treat, we canoed around the lake, walked the trail, and disconnected. It was so nice NOT having a tv in the room to distract us. The homemade desserts were a nice touch! Also, the swans on the lake were really cool to see!
