Gorgeous cottage.

Wonderful views and gorgeous cottage. Beautifully decorated and clean. Kitchen had everything you needed, location brilliant for exploring the lovely town and area. 10mins drive to Westward Ho! Beach which is amazing.

Parking is tricky as its a small steep road, but managed fine. Steps down to the cottage and inside could be off putting for some, but we didn't have an issue, part of the charm. People do walk past using the lane, but can't see in, so not a problem.

Location amazing. Gorgeous cottage with good facilities. Loved Bideford and surrounding area including Appledore, and Clovelly

At check-in, going through the reams of duplicated messages sent by booking.com they'd sent old keysafe number as well as new one.. Sods law, in bright sunshine looking at phone screen we kept trying old one !We booked through booking.com so assumed it would be correct. Sykes cottages- whom I have an account with, but didn't know cottage is also listed on, helped us out. Take note if you book through booking.com! Even with dehumidifier and heater, we struggled to warm up bottom room and clothes often felt damp.

Wow!Wow!Wow!... I honestly didn't want to leave. Loved it.

The accommodation was wow for us. If I could of stayed longer we would. It was very clean and very cosy. It is a very nice property, amazing views and inside it smells so nice. I would recommend anyone staying. It will be my go to place to stay when I need accommodation in this beautiful part of the country. Thank you to the hosts and the caretakers of this property. We was very impressed.

I couldn't ask for anything else. We loved our stay. No issues.

Cute but problematic and overpriced considering.

A really cute and very homely property. We loved the 3 storey layout and the lounge area with views. Clean and comfortable.

The main bedroom was cold as the radiator was broken and there was no heating in the kitchen. The parking is a real problem as there isn't a designated spot and the cottage is on a hairpin bend. Good job I have such a small car. If you want privacy, this is not the property for you, as it's positioned on a thoroughfare, with a fair bit of foot traffic. This made our dogs bark, quite a lot. Worst of all were the check in and out times! 5pm check in and 9am check out. This was not made clear before booking but was sent with confirmation with a note that this cannot be amended. Quite unreasonable. Sykes cottages, who manage this property were unresponsive to my messages.

Springfield Cottage had everything I needed to have a home away from home experience.

Location was fine. Within walking distance from everything and close to the bus stop as well.

The pedestrian passage along the house makes you mindful of your every move in the house. There should be two layers of curtains in the bedrooms to help improve your privacy.

The location and cleanliness excellent. We enjoyed our stay

If you ask my wife she had no complaints. What I would say is I was not particularly pleased with the process of booking. I requested an early check-in which was denied. But.... I'm 57 and have visited a few places around the globe, and never has the check-in been 5pm, never 9:30am checkout. For the money, which to me was expensive my to my wife value for money I was put off by the inflexibility and the fact that I had multi emails repeating the same - no you can't have early check in (I wanted 2pm) and rules. It felt very formal and not in the least "warmly welcoming". May I conclude by saying very comfortable, but a bit clinical. Don't let my delight in excellent hosting put you off however.

Exceptional

The cottage was lovely. Would definitely recommend to others. It is easy to get to the beaches, local shops. Lovely views from the cottage, bridge, fort, which is just up behind the cottage. Everything you would need was in the cottage. It was cosy, comfortable and was a great base for us to go off out days. Lynmouth, Clovelly, Woolacombe, Saunton Sands (and Instow beach and Westward Ho! both just minutes away, were amazing for Sunset shots).

Nothing I didn't like, but be careful with the top windows as no safely catches and quite a drop. Maybe safety catches should be added to these windows, to ensure no accidents.

Great location, lots of issues though!

Location was great for town, however there was constant noise from people walking by.

Sadly the property was very damp and had a terrible smell throughout. We had to use the dehumidifier constantly and it took several days to stop everything feeling damp. The mattresses were very uncomfortable. The toilet seat was loose. The flooring upstairs was extremely dangerous as it was so slippery. We had to put the heating on to help dry out the property and that made such a racket it was like a pneumatic drill!!
