Mediterranean country house with Wi-Fi, Pool and Garden

Cons: Die Küche ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und müsste teilweise im Bereich der Abfallbehälter repariert werden. Keine große Sache aber nervig, wenn Teile der Schübe abfallen.

This is a beautiful house with a great pool. It's a bit isolated, but in these covid times, that's what we wanted actually. It's a 10 minute drive to many shops and restaurants and also a 7 minute drive to a cute beach. And it has a large, beautiful, well-appointed kitchen and is in a new state of paint, etc. Overall, we liked the house but it being July in Mallorca, it was very hot at night and difficult for our family to sleep. The first night as soon as it became dark we were overwhelmed by mosquitos. Which is not unusual in Mallorca. However, very few of the windows in this house, we quickly found out, have screens. And several of the ones that did were not working, meaning they would not pull down. And so we had to sleep with the windows of the house 95% closed. And so it was very hot inside. So the first night was a sweatbox and as a family we slept very poorly. After a long day of travel this was the last thing we wanted. The worst part was we could see the air vents in the bedrooms for AC, so there is AC there, but we couldn't figure out how to turn it on, as there was no remote control anywhere. Anyway, we rang the property management the next day and asked how to turn the air conditioning on and they told us that it was not possible to have AC because we had not "booked it in advance." It turns out that we needed to request AC prior to our arrival otherwise it was not possible to use it. This we tried to explain, didn't seem fair as how would we know before arrival that 1 we'd need it, (some houses have fans, etc) and 2 that the property does not have proper screens on the windows? Anyway, the property management would not help us so rather than spend another night of no sleep in sweltering conditions, I had to go buy 130 euros worth of fans so my family could sleep. Fans we obviously could not take with us back home, so an unnecessary waste of money. We've never had to do anything like that before, especially when you consider this is not a cheap property. (It seems they want you to pay extra for the AC and book it in beforehand). We stayed in another house the second week and here they had almost no mosquitoes, which made our evenings far more pleasant. So, while it is a beautiful, well appointed house, we would not stay here again as the mosquitoes were unbearable & management was tone deaf to our needs regarding our comfort. If you do stay here, be sure to request ac IN ADVANCE as otherwise you likely won't be able to sleep.
