Baan Veanglhek Residence

Fantastic riverside location. Easy to hire a tuk tuk to see all the main sites of the old city. Spacious, clean room. Nice simple breakfast made to order. There is no restaurant (just a coffee shop) attached to the hotel itself but there is a fantastic restaurant 5 mins walk away - Sala.

Nothing to dislike. Keep in mind it's more of a guest house than a regular hotel so not a permanent reception in operation but that's not a problem.

It is a stunning traditional Thai house with eye for details, it has a lovely garden and a wonderful terrace facing the river and a temple.

The room on the street side was a bit noisy, but the super kind staff immediately arranged another room and that was perfect and quiet.

The property is located on a main road but set back so you don’t hear any street noise. The gardens, which also overlook the river, are beautifully maintained, very quiet and peaceful and especially lovely as a breakfast setting. Our room (Western style) was large, comfortable and private. Breakfasts are simple but delicious with also plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, cereal in addition to the cooked breakfast. Water and soft drinks along with snacks (sweet and savoury) are complimentary in the room and topped up each day. Lots of great eating places within walking distance and centrally located to a lot of Wats (temples). Danni was extremely helpful and staff are lovely. Added bonus is the cafe on the premises so you don’t need to go far for delicious fresh cake and coffee.

Breakfast was very basic and limited choice. Two types eggs, felt for the money paid more choice would have been good.
