Fern Lodge

Beautiful location, peaceful surroundings, and a lovely hot tub. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Nothing major to complain about. Overall, we had a lovely stay.

Fern Lodge is everything we wanted for a break away, very cosy and comfy. The wood burning fire was great and a small amount of logs and firelighter were provided. The hot tub was excellent although as its autumn and windy, quite a few leaves gathered in it, but that didn't bother us. The kitchen is well equiped and the fridge freezer is a good size.

Smoke alarm went off when using the grill, would advise against doing this.

Such a beautiful area, the lodge was incredibly quiet, very comfortable and lots of thought put into small details. We really appreciated having cleaning clothes and tea towels as well as a hand towel in the bathroom. Fantastic communication with the owner at all times and felt nothing was too much trouble. Instructions for the hot tub were superb, although the long matches were nowhere to be found. Happily we had a rocket lighter for our bbq and we got the fire started fairly quickly and the water heated up. It was easy to keep warming it back up after the initial big heat up.

A few too many cobwebs inside at the windows for our personal liking, to be expected outside being in a forest location but inside could do with an extra big dust or hoover. Beds are a smidgen snug for anyone on the tall side, but very comfortable mattresses and bedding.

The lodge was lovely and in a beautiful location. The hot tub was great for relaxing our kids loved it! The lodge was clean and homely and had everything you could need away from home. There were some beautiful walks and we went for a dip in the Loch which is a few mins walk from the property. The host Douglas answered all my questions and messaged during the trip to advise he would be happy to help if we needed anything. We would definitely book again as we had a lively holiday!
