Villa PAM, ALYA Beach House with pool and Hot Tub

Location was great, walking distance to the beach, the supermarket, bus stops and a fab coffee shop.

I wish there were a few more restaurants within walking distance but the location of the villa is still fantastic.

This property is in a fantastic location, 5 minutes from a lovely beach and a supermarket also close by. It's a quiet street, with easy parking. It overlooks an estuary and is peaceful. When the shutters are up it's very bright. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, crockery and cutlery. We were left a bottle of water and wine as a welcome which was very thoughtful. Upstairs the bedrooms were clean, fresh linen, and plenty of towels (2 on each bed, with a hand towel also on each bed, as well as 5 left for the pool/hot-tub). Due to the time of year (pretty much end of season [late October]) we paid about 20% of the peak summer price which made it value for money for what we got.

Whilst the appartement had been cleaned the floor was still grubby as if it has not been mopped and just swept. The kitchen had no tea-towels / oven-mittens which meant we had to use one of the hand towels for that purpose. Everything was online in terms of welcome notes / how to use things and some things were lacking - notably there were no instructions for the hot-tub (online or in the property). For the next user I suggest downloading the Lay-Z-Spa Hawaii manual. It took about 15 hours to get to the target temperature and so we missed the first days usage. Also you need to leave it on all the time (not explained) and on the last day there was an issue with the filter so it wouldn't work but I couldn't get a response from the owners so we lost the last day also. The owners / managing agent was generally responsive but not quickly - so it was hard to get anything done. For example whilst the showers are good and most taps had good flow, the en-suite tap was very slow. The agent offered to send a tech but due to the very slow back and forth it was impossible to set a time. For the Brits who go, there is no socket in the bathroom compatible with electric toothbrushes so you'll need an adapter for that, along with one for the bedroom. The swimming pool is very small. The kids loved it but you can't swim across it (unless you are under 7 years old !). It's also very shaded so will be cold - which is fine when it's boiling hot but by late October when the outside temperature is about 21-22 it's a bit too cold for some (not kids !). When it worked the hot-tub was great. The owners said it was fresh water in it and that the 'slimy' feel I mentioned was normal due to the chemicals used to keep it clean. Having never been in a hot tub I took their word for it. The TV worked well but you can't cast to it - it has amazon prime video and netflix so that was ok.

The accommodation was modern and beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. It was really close to the stunning Playa de Muro beach. A supermarket with fresh food and a very pleasant café with local treats were just around the corner. Parking was available right in front of the villa. We also really appreciated the amenities. Our child had a great time playing in the hot tub. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped — more than most places. The coffee capsules provided for the entire stay were a lovely touch. We also appreciated the small garden and the beach gear for kids (shovels, buckets). It’s a great location for trips — everything is within 30 to 60 minutes (Sóller, Formentor Lighthouse, the Dragon Caves). The hosts were also very friendly and helpful whenever we sent a message. We highly recommend this accommodation and would love to return.

The only downsides — which are definitely not the host’s fault — were the ants, which seem to be common all over Mallorca. However, the accommodation provided plenty of sprays, which solved the issue immediately and for the entire stay. As I mentioned, we saw this everywhere; it’s a humid area, and the sprays took care of it on the first day. The second minor issue was the grill, which was dirty — most likely because the previous guests didn’t clean it properly. Nothing that would discourage us from staying again; we just didn’t feel like cleaning it, so we didn’t use it.
