Great Little Getaway

We booked last minute for the weekend as we had family staying in the area. Very quick and easy to use website. Nice and quick responses and everything arranged in quick time. I'm stationed at Blandford Camp and this place is perfect. We will definitely be booking again and can't recommend staying here highly enough.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Paid £300 for 4 night stay, left after 1 night.

Nothing to like about this filthy smelly home.

Nothing could be worse!!! Was put into a dirty, smelly childs box room, couldn't open the door more than 45 degrees, carpet stained and very smelly, bed very uncomfortable and could feel the springs through it, tiny wardrobe was cluttered with childs toys and games, nowhere to put my holdall as the room is tiny and the under bed space was crammed full of suitcases, boxes, more childrens toys and more of the owners clutter. Wanted to leave immediately but had to stay one night as I couldn't find alternative at short notice. Room was dirty, smelly and hadn't been decorated for many years seemingly. I informed the host the following morning that I would be leaving and not returning as the place is filthy and not fit for purpose, she was unapologetic and blamed first her lodger for the shocking state of the shower room, then that she had only returned a few days prior from 3 weeks in her holiday home in spain. I suggested that it is surely her responsibility to check whether the place is clean and ready for paying guests? I asked if she would consider a partial of full refund but wouldn't agree to this and became rather aggressive and rude. I informed her that I would be reporting to booking.com and she was abusive, suggesting that I was a trouble maker and had no right to complain. I was glad to leave and find alternative accommodation so I could shower and remove the stench from her filthy property. I thought that as she is a nurse, at least the place would be clean and tidy and as it was higher than average price, I would be going into something exceptional, I did but it was exceptionally dirty, smelly and an absolute rip off financially. Have informed bookin.com and will await their response. Don't think I can add video nasty of shower room on this site so screenshots from the video will have to suffice, judge for yourself if you want to stay here, you have been warned!!!!!

Location for me was ideal Jane is down to Earth, welcoming and kind It was like staying in a friend’s home

Very Disappointed.

It was quiet.

As a single woman, travelling alone, I felt quite vulnerable staying there with only the male lodger. Jane, the host was away on holiday, which I found unsettling, why advertise a room if your not there? I wasn't given the back bedroom with garden view, but the front boxroom, which had an odd smell, and a creaking single bed. The bathroom made me feel as though I didn't wish to have a shower, so didn't. The milk had gone off, so was unable to have a hot drink, until I left. So your more concerned about me complaining about the milk, then the fact I'm a single woman alone and felt vulnerable!!!! If you were at a family funeral, I'm sorry but you should have cancelled booking then I could have found something else. Safety above monetary gain every time !!!!!

Accomodation was in a quiet, easy to reach location with ample parking available. The house had good facilities for both tea and cleaning. The bed was extremely comfortable. Perfect for a short stay

Super friendly place to stay, a real home away from home

It was less a B & B and more a home away from home. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It was clean and tidy and conveniently situated with shops, a pub and takeaways near by.

Unhappy stay

Location good for catching Poole ferry

No reply when arrived, spotted after 30 minutes wait, and kindly let in and shown room by lodger Owners had gone on holiday. I had not been informed. Kitchen not as clean as I would have liked . Told I could help myself to food in kitchen and fridge etc but nothing I liked in a full fridge . There was a can half full cat food uncovered in fridge . Bought fruit and yogurt from nearby supermarket to have for my breakfast . Fridge door not closed properly when up early for.breakfast. It would not shut properly. Didn’t take milk as not sure how safe this was to drink. Inside dishwasher dirty. Toilet room down stair near my bedroom small and lot dust on window sill. No information book in property. So couldn’t connect to internet or use smart TV during stay. To top it off Left my waterproof jacket behind after departure. All these problems could well have occurred because the owners were not present at the time. The lodger who showed me facilities on arrival was kind , but the responsibility surely must be that of the owners. Do Booking.com inspect properties on their website to ensure health and safety standards meet a standard that will protect guests and enhance the reputation of the website?

Our family holiday was ruined and stressful. Didn't stay even a night!

Misleading website presentation. Dirty kitchen ( dirty dog plate in the sink with dirty coffee mug next to it as well as a dirty fork, unhygienic state same as shower room; 1 shower/toilet to be shared by 5 bedrooms. Fridge full and with opened food containers with spoons inside. Personal items in the cupboards in the room. The property is generally outdated and dirty, inadequate for renting, does not respect Covid 19 regulation, health and safety, and no infection control.
