Top-tier experienceA high end property in this area
2 minute walk to sea. There is plenty to explore in the area and a good place to walk is 2 miles away at Ardmore point with unique rock formations, sea cliffs, fishing and is a notable bird watching area. Also worth a visit is Dumbarton Castle and Rock, 5 miles away. Dumbarton Castle has a longer recorded history than any other castle in Britain! Cardross has its own golf course, established 120 years ago, as well as a bowling, tennis and football club. Local attractions include Ardardan Estate Working Farm with a nursery and tea room and nearby Geilston Garden. Looked after by the National Trust for Scotland, Geilston is a delightful garden and is typical of the small country estates on the banks of the Clyde purchased by merchants and industrialists in the 18th and 19th centuries. Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is very close - it's just 6 miles to Balloch on the south shore of the loch. This beautiful area has so much to offer, both on and off the water.

Great place to stay for a larger group attending a family wedding in Scotland. 30 mins from Glasgow by car, also a decent train service is nearby, and also close proximity to some glorious scenery in Argyll. The house was just as advertised, and communications with James were straightforward and clear. Thanks for a great stay!

We very much enjoyed our stay in Cardross. It is a lovely little town that is still very convenient to everything. We typically stay in Glasgow when we come to visit family but instead chose to stay a little more rural. I am glad that we did! The home is very spacious with all amenities and is very clean. We were able to have the family come and visit us and had more room to comfortably sit and spend time together. The owner has taken great care to create a beautiful and comfortable space to enjoy. The back garden is quite the treat to explore and identify all the various trees and flowers. Careful of the water pressure in the sink located in the kitchen! More than one of us received an unintended shower from turning the handle a little too quickly. That being my only exceptionally minor complaint (and not really a complaint at all), this house was wonderful!

We stayed here as a family group of 9. The house was a perfect size for us and the garden was amazing for the kids. Location is great with easy access to nearby Helensburgh Dumbarton and Glasgow. Can recommend the local pub the Cardross Inn

We had a wonderful time at James’ place. We had 7 adults and 2 young children. It had plenty of space for all of us. Our 2 year old loved the back yard and the bomb shelter. The walk to the train was a beautiful 10-12 minute walk along the water. You do hear the train horn every time a train comes through but we got used to it quickly. We saw many of the neighbors and they were all so hi helpful and friendly. We just can’t say enough about our stay here.

Springvale was everything we expected. Lovely house inside and out. Very spacious with plenty of room for our family group. We were three families, ranging in age from 71 down to a 1 year old. We were very lucky with the weather and made good use of the gardens. The teenagers enjoyed playing badminton in the large front garden and we managed to have a BBQ on one of the evenings. The large kitchen was great for cooking and we all managed to eat around the big table. Plenty of things to do in the local area and not far from Lock Lomond. Would definitely recommend Springvale to anyone looking for a big house to enjoy with family or friends.

We had a great stay at this guesthouse.
Beautiful environment, great garden, lovely house.

The house is well located close to Cardross centre , shops and places to walk (Loch Lomond !). The house itself is character full, cosy and ideal for a group of people with generous bedrooms (2 en suite ) and plenty of group space (snug , large kitchen diner and a living room ). There was limited toilet roll and soap when we arrived but this got quickly resolved via contact with manager. There are also not too many mugs and glasses for a group of 10-12 but good dish washer which helps. The only issue was with the app vrbo which doesnt allow co-guests to acess key information. The precise adress of the place isnt given clearly and we needed to contact the host. All together great stay would recommend.

Twelve of us stayed in this lovely large comfortable house. seven adults and five children aged 9 to 16 had a wonderful time making their own entertainment both indoors and in the large garden. Hotel nearby served meals but most evenings did our own catering.

Beautiful house with lovely garden, definitely recommend for a large group. James was very accomodating even offering us use of his personal space for a couple of our lads prior to official check in time. The housekeepers were there when we arrived and were super friendly and helpful. Absolutely loved staying here, would definitely use again if in the area. Plenty of equipment for cooking, fridges a plenty so no worries regarding storage of food for large groups, We didn't find we were short of a single item! Highly recommended

We had a lovely stay at the Springvale house,
We have been 11 persons and found lots of space for all of us. The house has a historic ambience which we really enjoyed. We can highly recommend the location.
Train station is nearby and we went to Glasgow and Edinburgh. We also went to Loch Lomond by car, which took only about 20-30 minutes.

Very good, we enjoyed our stay very much. When we had a problem of our own making the housekeeper was very helpful and kind. Seven members of our family were very comfortable during our stay and friends were able to come and have a dinner with us one day.

Rented for a month and it was initially difficult to get fresh clean bedding changes.
House advertised for 12 but lacked sufficient glasses, mugs (had to buy), sharp kitchen knives, working can opener, floor mop, up to date trash collection notification etc....hot water tank and heater burst not repaired during last nine days of rent. Parking inadequate as owner requested access at all times.

We arrived on Monday from our four day stay in Glasgow. We started with 5 people and increased to 9 by Wednesday afternoon. The space is beautifully laid out with ample bedrooms and bathrooms. The greenhouse in the back was the preferred space. It was tranquil and beautiful with many flowering trees and shrubs. The train was a quick walk down a seaside walkway.
The Aga in the kitchen was a real treat to work with and proved to be perfect for our self catered party. Our host shared some local sites to explore and we had a beautiful hike in Loch Lomond. Highly recommend this site for small groups. The Cardross Inn has a lovely breakfast just down the road.

The Springvale manor is an absolutely beautiful property that is clearly well loved and cared for. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. It was a quick walk to the train station, the local grocery store, and even the ruins of an old castle! We could not have enjoyed our stay more and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone staying with a large party.
I would love to stay here again in tbe future.

We had a long weekend with extended family. Plenty of room for everyone and a large garden as well. Property is handy for the Clyde as well as Loch Lomond and has a rail link into Glasgow.

As a family of 9 across three generations this house provided sufficient space and bathrooms for us all. It was clean and well presented. The grandchildren enjoyed the spacious garden and had tremendous fun exploring it. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The AGA was something I thought would be a challenge but I found it easy to use and the hob and oven in the utility room proved useful when I wanted a specific temperature. The conservatory was a lovely space for relaxing in.
We found lots of lovely things to do in the surrounding area. The children particularly enjoyed Monty’s Farm Park and we loved Geilston Gardens which were both very close to the house.
It is certainly a great place to stay.

Beautiful home close to village and shore.
This property was ideally situated with easy access to local facilities and beach. It was possible to walk to H.burgh from here, but terrain pretty rough.
The house was immaculate and spacious. I cannot fault it in any way. Eleven of us stayed there comfortably. Spotless bath/shower rooms, 2 en suite, and fresh pleasant bedrooms. The lovely, large garden and conservatory were a bonus.
The kitchen area, with Aga, was well stocked and with an overspill fridge and normal cooker in utility room, perfect.
The Cardross Inn deserves a mention. We had a beautiful lunch there with great service.
I would definitely recommend this property.

Absolute Perfection
We had been planning this trip for 4 years now. Several households, 11 people including two small children under five. And Springvale was absolute perfection. James was a perfect host who let us postpone our trip when covid cancelled it last year and gave us all the information we needed once we arrived to the charming town of Cardross. The house had so much space, everyone had their own spaces, there was a large dining room where we shared meals, and the gardens were perfect for the kids to run around in all day. 10 minute walk to the train station. Cute pub right down the street. Could not have done asked for a better spot.

Wonderful getaway
Our delegation of ten from around the world came for the climate negotiations and this was the perfect getaway. The house was charming and in a beautiful location, yet very easy to get to Glasgow center. It was just what we needed!

Birthday Celebrations
Perfect house for celebration with the whole family - lots of space in a lovely, historic house. Warm and welcoming kitchen, comfortable lounge and a dining room fit for a king. We loved it, and the local pub is only a few minutes'walk for good food and a pint. Highly recommended.

Excellent property in Cardross
The house was very comfortable and in excellent condition. We loved sitting out in the garden and relaxing in the conservatory. As golfers, it was very close to lots of lovely courses, we played 4 of them. The only criticism I would have was parking. We only had 3 small cars but still had to do a lot of manoeuvring to manage to park them in the allocated space.

A real gem to explore loch lomond
Our stay was for a week , 7 of us over three generations ranging from 10 to 77. Springvale is a stunning property and very spacious. We loved how it was decorated and the family pictures added a lovely touch. The house was very clean and had all the facilities you would need.
The garden was amazing and although the weather was mostly wet, it was a great space for Cooper our puppy. All enclosed with lovely trees. A small walk to the river Clyde for the Doggo was also a great plus for us.
Springvale is so close to all the local sites and loch Lomond. Literally a 10ish minute drive to Balloch.
Lots of great places to eat nearby, The Cardross Inn and Cattle&Creel , La Barca in Helensburgh would be our recommendations. Also in Balloch, The Pier and Cucina.
All the local Scottish people we met were so friendly and helpful.

A huge property with plenty of space for the whole family.
This lovely home had 6 bedrooms, offering varied sleeping arrangements which worked perfectly for the reunion of three generations of our family. There was plenty of downstairs space and a large garden for the little ones to let off steam. The village of Cardross is also well placed and offered the option to walk from the property to the play area and village shop alongside the estuary, without having to walk alongside the main road.

Perfect for a Family
We were a family of five adults that flew in for a wedding on Loch Lomond. We all agreed the property was perfect for us. James was helpful with any concerns I had prior to arrival. We had one issue with the showers and it was corrected within hours. Since we flew in we did not have a car but it was really easy to get around. We called multiple taxis and never had a long wait. The train really is close and it proved to be a delightful walk along the Clyde to the station. We also had dinner a few times at the Cardross Inn, also within walking distance. Overall, my family decided that for our needs it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Beautiful home
We had a great time at this property. Everyone in the family loved the house and my partner loved cooking on the AGA once we got it figured out.
The house and yard are beautiful. Plenty of space for sleeping and hanging out. The conservatory was a favorite room. Being from the United States figuring out the radiators was a bit tricky.
Great location as well. Few minutes walk to the coast and drive to a few towns. Loch Lomond is about 20-30 minutes away depending on where you go.
All in all a great time at a beautiful house!

A great base for a large group
We needed a large place for a visit by our kids and grandkids and this was perfect. Everyone had a bedroom, plenty of showers, and room to maneuver. We especially liked the garden and conservatory. Convenient for the railway into Glasgow. Very homey and strongly recommended.

Perfect home for our family reunion. Plenty rooms and refurbished bath/shower rooms . Well located for a stroll by the water and easy walk into local bar and restaurant. Some rooms a bit too cluttered with furniture but would definitely recommend.
