About this cabin rental

Located on our 10-acre mini-farm this spacious cabin (1100 sq feet) was once Mamaw's home. The cabin sleeps 2 private and 4 more semi-private, accommodating 6 people total. Built specifically for Mamaw in a primitive country style, it features a spacious Loft bedroom that sleeps 3, an additional small bedroom that sleeps 1 and a Master Bedroom with Queen- size Sleep Number Bed. The rustic country interior features extensive wood from various trees harvested off of the farm, cedar, poplar, pine and oak. Fully functional kitchen and bath including washer/dryer. A rear deck overlooks woods and pasture and depending on the time of year you may hear our small creek rushing at the bottom of the hill or drop a line off the floating deck of our farm pond. There is also an outdoor fire-pit to enjoy on those cooler nights. Walk our woods, wade our creek, meet our cows or feed our chickens. Enjoy some "Goat Therapy" they are always willing to listen and have an answer for your every question. LOL. Relaxing small farm living is here to enjoy and if the chickens are laying there will be fresh eggs for breakfast too.

We do have TV with antenna for approx 10-15 stations, ROKU TV and Wi-Fi. We seem to have good reception with Verizon.

Centrally located only 5 minutes from Versailles State Park, 30 minutes from Lawrenceburg Casino, Perfect North Ski Slopes, 30 minutes to Historic Madison Indiana, 15 minutes to beautiful Ertels Cellers Winery and Bistro, (a participant in the Indiana Wine Trail) and 10 minutes from the small town of Friendship, Indiana and the NMLRA shoot events. (THREE NIGHT MINIMUM DURING FRIENDSHIP WEEKS) Make a visit to the Hillforest Victorian House in Historic Aurora and stop by Great Crescent Brewery afterwards Explore Batesville and Historic Oldenburg (Village of Spires) only 30 minutes away. Dine at the Historic Sherman House and Bier-garden or stay local at Crossroads Family Restaurant. Come explore our surrounding small towns and countryside. Centrally located to be able to explore 5 surrounding Indiana Counties and all they have to offer.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a secluded cabin in the woods. It is located on our farm and our home is next door. Please see photos. When guest are here we try to remain invisible around the property. Basically we give the fire pit and surrounding yard over to our guests and you may also fish in our pond so bring your poles. Again our attempt is provide a relaxing country cabin retreat.

Please don't wander too far as we only have 10 acres which sounds like alot but you will soon cross over to neighbors property.

PLEASE NOTE: DURING DEER HUNTING SEASON (END OF OCTOBER THROUGH NOVEMBER) I WOULD ASK YOU TO PLEASE NOT HIKE IN OUR WOODS. MANY OF MY NEIGHBORS ARE HUNTERS (ESPECIALLY ON THE WEEKENDS) AND IT WOULD BE UNSAFE TO BE WANDERING ABOUT. Hiking is available at Versailles State Park which is only about 5 miles away.

* Due to loft home is not suitable for younger children *
* We have a ROKU TV with an additional antenna with approx 10 channels and DVD player.. I have a variety of DVDs but please feel free to bring your own. WiFi available
* We have added a Wii Video Gaming System with a large selection of games.
* New charcoal grill along with fire pit.
* We are a small working farm with cattle, chicken and goats.

NOTE: Some GPS have us listed under Versailles or Dillsboro, (I would suggest trying Versailles, IN first) if you are having problems finding us, please search both or e-mail for directions. We are in the country at the end of a dead-end road, but are actually very easy to find. Our road is narrow and hilly so please drive slowly and carefully.

See pic of map in photos. We are only one turn off of highway 50. There is a small cabin sign on the mailbox and the numbers 3727. Pull in drive and go past chickens and barns and my brick home. Follow signs back to cabin. You will see a cabin parking sign.

Our 3 adult children stayed with us for a few days and we explored local State Parks. A lot of hiking and having family fun and we could come back to this beautiful, quiet cabin. The eggs were great, and some free fresh veggies from the gardens were fantastic! Would come back again!

All my husband wanted was to relax for his birthday. This cabin, made his wish a reality. I have not seen his smile in such a long time. It was truly heavenly! The host are so accommodating and even though we didn’t talk much but you can tell they are amazing people. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, they did an amazing job building it. I loved the decorating it truly made you feel at home. It had everything you may need. The sleep number bed was amazing. We even had fresh farm eggs in the fridge, water bottles and anything else you may need including condiments and spices. Including cups, plates, silverware and pots and pans. Also, outside they had a grill and everything we needed for that as well, even the charcoal. Now outside, it was truly country heaven! The deck is directly to the woods and wraps around the back where their animals were grazing. It was beautiful waking up and watching them. Also, the wildlife and listening to the peaceful sounds in the woods. The creek is absolutely beautiful! Our last day we did hop in the hot tub and had a little bond fire as well ( they had the wood too). We were going to go fishing in the pond but ran out of time. They also have my dream garden. I would definitely recommend others to this peaceful oasis. We will definitely be coming back in the future with our son. I truly felt we fell back in love this last weekend after 9years!Thank you so much for allowing us to stay! Have more photos but won’t let me add. Will send to host.

Wonderful house/cabin almost in the woods but close enough to town/shops. A minor issue with the oven but our wonderful Hostess cooked it for us!

It was more fun and adventurous that we had Imagine. My kid absolutely adored every moment of it, the cabin on the barn with the chickens and the goats and the leak on the property. Not to talk about the Jacuzzi. We’re off the charts. Thank you so much.
