la casa de las plazas is located on a quieter street in the la candelaria neighbourhood of bogotá. this makes it very well positioned for exploring, joining walking tours, and enjoying bogotas cultural neighbourhood. the rooms were nicely decorated and clean, and the staff were friendly and kind. as a solo woman traveller i felt safe here.
i booked a private en-suite room and was first located right next to the breakfast room. i could hear every single movement, conversation, and plate being touched. i requested a new room and they immediately switched me but this time i was located right next to the door which certainly helped with the noise from the common space. however, given that the hostel uses a bell system to enter the property, the noise from the bell ringing each time reverberated through the walls.

My favorite thing was the lovely staff and how they made you feel like staying at a relative.
The kitchen and Shower facilities where a little small. The fact that you could only enter after using a bell and a staff member opening the gate all the time was quite annoying at night. I understand this is due to security reasons. Maybe they could implement a security camera and an electric door opener.

The location, being able to enter the hotel at 4am, the friendly staff, good wifi, comfortable beds
No towels on arrival, no hand soap, although supposedly included no breakfast
