Lovely apartment

Nice apartment with use of garden

Location, apartment is in nice little road but just off a main road in a scruffy area, some distant from the old town and port which both are very nice.

Modern, chilled, nature, flowers, relaxation…

The apartment is modern and clean. It is great for hot days as being on the ground floor and having trees in front of it keeps it chilled. The hosts are nice and super helpful. At the beginning, the location can seem a bit tricky as it’s in a neighbourhood not far from Nea Chora beach but then you realise you have access to the beach and to other beaches east of the city. You can also walk into town and experience the nice city vibes with lots of events, tavernas and boutique shops. And yes forgot the front garden - it’s a super nice corner of heaven.

A great place , well located for a week's stay. Well equipped with modern amenities -would recommend

The apartment is part of the ground floor of the owner's 3 storey house. It's in a pleasant neighbourhood with the main street just a couple of minutes walk. Supermarkets, good butcher, coffee shops and usual high st amenities are just a few minutes walk away. The centre of Chania is 10 minutes walk, parking is off street and secure. The owner is very amenable and even though a barbeque is not listed he lent us his own. The garden is very well tended by his wife though it is at the front of the property. This isn't much of a problem as there is a bollard to stop cars accessing so it's pleasant to sit outside in the evening without people walking by.

Grill tray could do with a grate. You need to use an oven shelf with the tray underneath to grill anything - not the easiest. Kitchen knives could do with a sharpen if you are doing much cooking but we mentioned to the owner and he is actioning. Front door could do with a handle. They have a key holder like hotels you put the key in to keep the lights etc on so you can't go out leaving a/c etc on. Only thing is if you are outside you need to leave the door open, if it shuts in the wind as it did on us once you have to climb through the kitchen window!

Great, quiet location, cosy apartment. The little garden in front of the house was just perfect to have a meal, relax in the shadow of the trees. Xanthi and her husband welcomed me w/ fruits, home made cake and some Creten specialty and the traditional red eggs for Easter :-) The apartment was absolutely well equipped and clean. Frankly you cannot ask for more.

I cannot list anything, sincerely all was very good, even beyond my expectations. I have rented multiple apartments already around the world through different platforms. This place is in my Top 5.

Lovely hosts and lovely place. Nice and clean apartment with many extras such as coffee, tea, cleaning staff and even ouzo and a cake as welcome thing. Great communication with host and very helpful when we were planning our trips. Apartment also located close to old town Chania not even 15mins walk which was another pros. Highly recommended place!

The best place we stayed in Crete.

Prickly Pear Apartment is the best place we stayed during our two weeks on Crete (The other places were fine, but the Prickly Pear is better!) A very modern and attractive ground floor apartment, offering use of a delightful front garden. The owners are good natured and very helpful. The apartment is a good size and complete with full-size appliances (cooker, fridge-freezer, washing machine, toaster, filter coffee machine, but no microwave). All windows fitted with strong mosquito screens. There is a beach umbrella for guest use. LOCATION - Prickly Pear is in a quiet residential area very near Nea Chora Beach. That's a solid 20-minute walk from Chania Old Town - BUT - the location is actually the mid-point between the boisterous city beach (sunbeds, beach bars and restaurants) and the more serene Golden Beach. A couple of side streets bring you onto the sea front where you’ll find a popular café/bar and the excellent, unpretentious Tsalikis taverna. Prickly Pear is especially suited to anyone planning a long-ish stay in Chania (we stayed 8 nights) and needs to wash clothes and prepare the odd meal.

Nothing major - because Prickly Pear is so suited to self-catering, some wood cooking utensils would be useful, also a smaller saucepan.

Had a lovely stay iat the Prickly Pear apartmemt. Lovely apartment great location. Use of beautiful garden at location. Very friendly accomodating helpful host. Beautiful cake and drink on arrival to greet you on arrival.

One could live here

We liked everything. The apartment was very efficiently and nicely decorated. We could live there. Extra sheets, washing machine, kitchen was fully equipped... On top of these we found a delicious homemade welcome cake. They were also very helpful to provide us a vacuum cleaner the last night to use it for our vacuum bags. We loved everything and would stay again!

Mosquitos. But they have mosquito net on the windows. So they did their best already.

Exceptional

Xanthi and her husband have been amazing hosts. The apartment is clean, well located and has all the necessary facilities for a one week holiday. The old town is about 20 minutes of walk from the apartment, the closest beach is around 5 minutes on foot and there are several supermarkets in this quiet neighborhood. There is absolutely nothing we did not love about this place. Great hospitality!

One of the best in Chania if you are looking for a place to relax!

The place is wonderfull, with amazing private garden that provides shade when needed and fantastic hosts who are as helpful as they are welcoming (we were welcomed by home prepared cake) Truly you can feel at home very fast! We are travelling with a small dog, so it’s great that the apartament is pet friendly. Location is good as the apartament is very quite and pretty close to Nea Chora beach and the old town. We strongly recommend to visit Prickly Pear!

Top-ferienwohnung, ideal für zwei

Die Wohnung liegt ca.20 Minuten von der Altstadt und 7-8 Mimuten vom Strand entfernt. Die Gegend ist ruhig, man hat Parkplatz direkt am Haus. Sehr praktisch, dass der Schlüssel in einer Box mit Pin auf uns wartete. Auf dem Tisch erwarteten uns selbstgemachter Kuchen, Obst und Raki. Wunderbar! Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und sauber. Wir haben nichts vermisst. Unser Bett war super konfortabel, mit einer großen Decke, so dass man nicht darum streiten musste 😉. Im Vorgarten haben wir einige gemütliche Stunden beim Essen oder Spielen verbracht. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Vorsicht, wenn man rausgeht, immer den Schlüssel mitnehmen, denn wenn die Tür zuknallt, kann man nicht mehr rein. Uns musste einmal der Besitzer aus der Patsche helfen 🤦‍♀️. Wir würden gerne jederzeit wieder kommen. Können die Ferienwohnung nur empfehlen.

Rückenschmerzen bei unbequemen Bett, alte Schlafcouch

- Lage gut, nah zum Strand und Chania Altstadt - Freundlicher Gastgeber

- Bett quietscht bei jeder Bewegung und ist sehr hart und unbequem. Wir sind leider jeden Tag mit Rückenschmerzen aufgewacht. Der Gastgeber hat nach unseren Beschwerden einen Topper drauf gelegt, dieser ist extrem weich und hat leider die Situation kaum verbessert - Alte Ausstattung und Möbel: Waschmaschine alt und rostig, Schlafcouch durch die Jahre runtergekommen und unbequem zu sitzen. Da das Bett unbequem ist hat mein Mann probiert auf der Schlafcouch zu schlafen, diese ist leider durchgesessen und dadurch super unbequem. Würde niemandem empfehlen drauf zu schlafen. - Hunde aus der Wohnungen in der Machbarschaft bellen am Abend, da war abends teilweise laut. Das kann verständlicherweise der Gastgeber nicht beeinflussen.

Bardzo miłe mieszkanie - czyste, wygodne, dla 2-3 osób idealne.

Miły i pomocny właściciel. Mieszkanie bardzo czyste. Do dyspozycji mały ogródek od frontu (z huśtawką ;-). Na powitanie coś słodkiego. Kuchnia dobrze wyposażona - do dyspozycji poza standardową płytą/piekarnikiem: ekspres przelewowy, opiekacz, toster. Jest też pralka. Najbliższa okolica nie jest najpiękniejsza ale jest cicho i bezpiecznie. Do najbliższej plaży piechotą 10-15 min. Na stare miasto około 20-30 min. w odległości 10 min są 2 markety oraz sporo mniejszych sklepików, barów itp. Cała rodzina jest zadowolona więc myślę, że miejsce godne polecenia ;-).
