The Willows - Charming Railway Woodland Cottage with Log Burner

Cosy cottage in a quiet area, peaceful. Great facilities, lovely garden with 2 wonderful seating areas (lounge/dining) and a swing chair. A squirrel loved the secret garden under the willow tree! Fortunate with the weather, we woke upto a sun rise view of the ponies in the fields. Super important, it was clean and comfortable. Good kitchen facilities, incl dishwasher and washing machine, efficient and clean oven. Delightful decorative touches. Spacious upstairs bathroom and main bedroom. An enjoyable balcony adjoining the master bedroom, ideal for an evening tipple watching the sun set. 2 other cosy, pleasant bedrooms. A car is required. Just a note for others, the stairs are quite steep (as expected in a traditional cottage) so not for those with walking impairment. Slept well all week, as a light sleeper this was excellent. Lock box was very efficient for us, since we were flying in and you never know if there will be a delay. The transformed downstairs shower room is easier to use. It was as good as before, but the general upgrade, extra finishing touches, since our last visit made it even better. Bottle of welcome wine, hot choc etc, appreciated. Nice (useful) to find tea towels, sponge and a few starter dishwasher tablets in the kitchen. Great to find a place that we can return to when visiting family in the U.K. We settled in immediately, just a pity the time flew by so quickly. Easy to contact agent/owners if needed. No need for the fire on this visit, but, have enjoyed toasting marshmallows previously. Plenty of books, a few games to play too, if you have time. It was so pleasant, I could live there! Recommended.

We did not want to leave so soon. We really enjoyed our stay. Really homely., well looked after. Maybe the master bed could be slightly bigger, but, that is a personal point because I like my extra space. The bed was comfortable. Minor notes: We noticed a slight new drain odour (not sewerage odour) from the downstairs showeroom. Freezer gets a bit iced up.

Really peaceful, super clean. Enough space for the whole family. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you needed for cooking. We went during a heatwave and the property owners provided fans on request. Thank you!

It is a bit out of the way, you need a car to get everywhere. There are some nice paths for walking but if you want to quickly grab something from the shops you need to get in the car (or bring a bicycle).

Lovely garden Lovely location, however country road was busier than anticipated. Master bedroom nice size.

Supposed to be pet friendly but dogs only allowed in kitchen, not lounge or upstairs, so this is not friendly. The dog garden was not secure for small dogs, as gap under gate so could assess road. Very narrow cottage stairs. Upstairs bathroom was distance from master bedroom. Not ideal for elderly parents.
