Cloncaird Castle Estate Cottages

Stunning cottage, the photos don't do it justice at all, such a peaceful, beautiful location with really lovely walksaround the estate. Check in was easy and communication with the host was simple and prompt. We loved the guest stores that even had a communal washing machine and tumble dryer and where we could borrow games, dvds and books which came in really handy travelling with children during the rainy spells. Very child and pet friendly location. Will definitely be booking at the cloncaird again.

Honestly, there wasn't anything to dislike!

The ability to walk the grounds was super. Having access to an open hearth was lovely when there was a nip in the air. The wood panelling gave the accommodation great atmosphere.

If there had been charging for EVs, that would have been a real bonus. Maybe next time...

Beautiful secluded location - it was so quiet and peaceful. The Loft Cottage was perfect for two, and extremely well appointed. The Guest Store with games and DVDs is a lovely touch, and the grounds are beautiful to explore.

The cottage was in a good location. The beds were comfy but the duvets were so heavy for the middle of summer.

We found a few dry looking mice droppings on one of the sofas the first day but as its the countryside we didnt think it would be too much of a problem. We also heard scratching under the kitchen units later on so messaged the estate manager that night. He said he would send someone round to look the next day. We didn't hear anything else from him. We then found droppings near the entrance but were going to be out each day and as we were only there three nights we let it go. We made sure all food was in the fridge or hidden in the microwave eg crisps. The final night we heard scurrying in the bedroom ceiling and when we were packing up found one of our cool bags (which was empty) has been nibbled too. I messaged the estate manager again on our way home to let him know there were definitely mice in the property. I never got an acknowledgement, which I thought was a bit off.
