About this cottage rental
This quaint holiday cottage sits within the grounds of the historic Kilkerran Estate in South Ayrshire. Set on the Water of Girvan and surrounded by rolling countryside, it’s the ideal base for couples and solo travellers who love being out and about in nature. The picturesque village of Dailly is just 2.5 miles away and features independent eateries, along with beautiful historic buildings and the medieval ruins of Dalquharran Castle. Slightly further afield, the coastal resort of Girvan (8 miles) makes a lovely day out, with its sandy beach, boat trips, and traditional seaside shops. For keen walkers, you can join one of the footpaths through Galloway Forest Park (10 miles), or pick up the long-distance Ayrshire Coastal Path, known for its exceptional wildlife. Nearby attractions and days out include Culzean Castle and the world-famous golf courses at Trump Turnberry and Royal Troon (all within 25 miles).
The welcoming stone cottage is full of character, featuring period features, antique-style furniture, and original panelled windows framing beautiful rural views. Step up and into the entrance porch, where you’ll find a cute table and chairs, as well as space to store outdoor gear. From here, move through to the social heart of the home: the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Unwind in this charming space between your days of adventure; sink into the soft seating, bask in the glow of the wood burner, and flick through the Smart TV. The kitchen offers everything needed for cooking up Scottish feasts, which can be enjoyed at the wooden dining table set in the corner of the room. Completing the interior is a restful double bedroom and a refreshing bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Outside, to the side of the cottage, an enclosed garden is laid to lawn and offers beautiful countryside views. You’ll also benefit from private parking for one car to the front of the property, making your arrival and day trips easy.
