St George’s Lodge

A beautiful cottage in a quiet quaint village with a pub on the doorstep. The cottage is clean, modern had everything you could possibly need from a dishwasher to a nice garden to sit out and enjoy the sun. Owners are very nice, Charlotte came to chat to us when we were in the garden on the first day. But they are not looking in on you and we were left to our own devices. Cottage nice, warm and cosy, double bed comfy (cant speak for the single beds as only two of us) We were going to a concert at the piece hall and Uber was very easy to get and about a tenner. So you are not far out from Halifax. Wouldn't hesitate to re-book.

As others said the WIFI isn't great. We tried restarting the router as suggested but Charlotte did explain this is a village issue so cannot blame them. If we come back we would know to just download films/series to our tablets etc...

The Lodge was perfect, clean, modern and peaceful. Good sized rooms but still felt cosy. The private parking and a little garden are a bonus. The local pub across the road served lovely meals. Hosts Charlotte and Andrew were amazing. We needed to add a day and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Will definitely stay again when visiting the UK.

The location was perfect for our needs (it helped having a pub across the road!) The property was beautiful and clean, with basic essentials available (tea, coffee, biscuits etc) Parking was on a little private gated driveway at the front of the property Charlotte and Andrew were lovely hosts!!

A great place to stay. We were attending a concert at the Piece Hall in Halifax and it was a perfect base for a family weekend, and easy to get in and out by taxi. Charlotte is a great host and looked after us well. The house is unusually well equipped with the everyday bit and pieces so often missing in rental houses; the living room is spacious and the bedrooms and kitchen are a good size. Also, a nice local pub just across the road, with a decent pint and good food!

WiFi a bit temperamental, but good enough for web browsing; not the owners' fault - just country life!
