The owners were delightful and we loved the cosy dining room and excellent cuisine.
It would have been nice to have a lounge to sit in and read a book

The hotel is set in a small, quiet rural hamlet. There was a very good continental breakfast and the restaurant served evening meals, which were exceptionally good. As there are no other restaurants, cafes or shops within walking distance, it did limit our choices, but the food and wine served at the hotel didn't make us feel that we were missing anything; it was outstanding. A car is a definite requirement, and there is plenty to see in the local area, as well as visiting nearby Bayeux or Caen. There was no traffic noise at night to keep you awake, just the odd call from the owls.
The upstairs rooms were accessible by stairs only - an outside staircase and an internal spiral staircase - so carrying luggage was a bit awkward. Although there was a kettle in the room, the tea and coffee making facilities were very basic.

The location is "rural" and is in a beautiful spot with easy access to the nearest town(s) and main roads for exploration. The welcome was very nice and informative. The rooms were great, well equipped and very clean. Breakfast was in the restaurant and there was plenty of variety on offer in the "continental" sense. It was obvious that we were in a "work in progress" environment but it did not affect our stay, rather enhanced it I would say because we could see the recent work that had been accomplished.

The location was excellent. The breakfast and evening meals we had were simple, but superb.
I think china cups might be better in the room. That is not a complaint but an observation.

Actually nothing. Never in our lives we ever met such a rude person as the manager. Horrible style and ridiculous how he treats his guests. Just one thing to describe how horrible he is: at the breakfast he didn’t provide to our 4 year old daughter a plate because the breakfast for children is free… so basically we were 4 and only 3 plates we could use and only 3 croissants we were offered.

We have stayed before. Find it convenient.
We paid for a deluxe room but could see little difference between this room and the one we had last year.

What a great find, 11 mins from Arromanches and far from the other landing beaches, the owner was friendly and helpful, the room clean and comfortable and the building unique. Also the restaurant was excellent as was the staff.
I don't think it could be bettered

We enjoyed our stay very much. There have very modern rooms in a very old building. All very well maintained. The breakfast and dinners that we ate there were exceptional. The location is very close to the Normandy Beaches and many museums and memorials. The view from the parking area was spectacular. You can see the country side and the English Channel.
Not really a dislike, but the fact that we did not speak French made communicating a bit challenging.

Peaceful location. Convenient parking and nice restaurant.
Lots of noisy motorbikes in the morning.

We booked this for one night whilst touring on motorbikes. The room was cheap so we managed our expectations ahead of arrival. I honestly thought there had been a mistake as the place is amazing. The restaurant run by the owners is fantastic, the food is excellent and terrific value for money. If you see the Coccette de Mer I wholly recommend it!
Breakfast was standard continental, really fresh and kept topped up.
The motorbikes were allowed to be parked in the hotel courtyard for additional safety. Not English speaking but with our basic French, their basic English and Google translate we got by.
All the staff are really friendly and accommodating.
Can't think of anything that needed to be improved

Location was nice - could have gone for a walk in the countryside. Plenty of parking. The food was very nice and reasonably priced.
The rooms were very small and the sheets smelt damp. The tea/coffee cups (paper cups) were disappointing, would have liked a proper cup/mug. We could hear mice in the walls during the night.

We appreciated the hotel location, all the special places we wanted to visit were within a 40 km radius, making this hotel an ideal base for our bike trip. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the hotel. We chose to have dinners at the onsite restaurant, serving delicious food. On Sunday night the Chef ran a takeaway catering van by the hotel courtyard in lieu of opening the restaurant, offering good quality burgers, french sausages in buns, fries, beer and wine. People came from the local village to eat al fresco in the hotel courtyard, very friendly atmosphere!
We liked everything this hotel offered.
As a suggestion, the hotel could consider providing milk sachets in the guest rooms to cater for wider tastes. An electric kettle and tea and coffee are already provided.

Arrived late on a Sunday so was not expecting much from a small establishment. However, we were welcomed, shown our room, which was just fine. Breakfast was great! Would definitely stay again. Only minor negative was no cups for making a hot drink or milk but as said, it was late and almost end of season. Tres Bon!
As above, better hot drink set up.

A beautiful property just outside the village, with an amazing restaurant! Friendly, welcoming staff. Secure parking for the motorbike! I'll visit again.
Nothing... it was all good.

Comfortable bed and good shower.
Entry was locked at first. Nothing around the place so we walked to the next village which is 1+ mile on the busy road without sidewalks. Dark on return. Minimal breakfast.

New looking build on the bedroom wing, clean, tea making facility, comfortable bed, good breakfast
The double bedroom was very small.

The staff was very friendly, the food at the restaurant was exquisite and the location was beautiful. Everything was communicated clearly in advance and any questions always had a very satisfactory answer.
We fell in love with the place upon arrival. Nice and quiet, no hassle, easy enough to find and again, very nice hosts.
No problems with the WIFI as i read in the reviews that this was the main issue for some people. Still speaks a lot for the property if this is the only issue people could find.
Not much to dislike. If i had to chose anything is that no shops were in walking distance but this is not a location you choose for easy access to shopping districts, you choose this location to unwind.

Breakfast was good, no eggs were served.
Dinner, cooked by the owner was excellent.
The hotel is in an old village building, the room was rather simple. Checking in only after 4 pm.
Short driving distance to the various landing beaches, museums and cemeteries.

The food was excellent and the venue was nicely done. The location was within easy striking distance of all of the Normandy beaches and visitor attractions and is an ideal base for travelling around.
Access to protected parking for a motorcycle was welcomed but the gateway could do with the 'step' being altered with a small amount of concrete to form a slight ramp to make it easier and safer to get a motorcycle in.
