Phenomenal lodge to settle!

First of all the host, Karen, was amazing from the minute we booked, to the day we checked out. She guided us through the process of checking in and was easy to get in contact with if we needed anything. Now the property, it was everything we could ever want in a 6 person accommodation. Really well decorated and designed throughout, very modern and made us feel very homely. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice getaway.

Very short but very sweet stay.

Location is very good for visiting the numerous natural and historic things to do in the area. The lodge was larger than expected and everything was very clean. There were numerous little touches such as a welcome basket.

The lodges are very close together and so there is little privacy. It was not a problem for us but it may be for some.

Fantastic stay at this cosy lodge

We can’t recommend this place enough, we had such a great stay at the Settlers Lodge! Everything you could wish for is there, even food for the birds and the squirrels that pass by the lodge every day☺️ The inside of the lodge is larger and cosier than it looks on the pictures. It is all well maintained and looked after with care and love. We enjoyed the hot tub on the veranda, watching Dexter on the huge tv and we slept like babies in the comfy beds. The direct surroundings of the park are so lovely, pieceful and quiet. Green all around. We even saw a deer in the small forest close to the park! From the lodge we made several day trips: walking to the Hareshaw Linn waterfall, hiking a bit of the Hadrian’s Wall Path and of course we visited Alnwick Castle. We went out for drinks and a delicious platter full of treats at William de Percy, right down in the village. A sincere shoutout to our hostess Karen. Although we never met in person she made us feel very welcome. She is so kind, supportive and replies to any queries you have almost instantly. Thank you so much for everything, Karen!

Easily the best place we’ve ever stayed, couldn’t recommend it enough.

Such a beautiful lodge in a gorgeous setting. It had everything you could possibly need and more. The stars from the hot tub on an evening are worth the rate alone. Absolutely stunning! The hosts are also phenomenal, despite no face to face contact, we felt hugely invited, informed, prepared and supported. Karen went out of her way to ensure we had the best possible stay! The facilities were incredible and it was super homely!

That we couldn’t stay longer! Recommend arranging a shopping delivery a day in advance or taking groceries with you (Karen did prewarn us, but I winged it thinking I could pop to a local Tesco … I was wrong!)

Fantastic cosy lodge

Stayed here for a wedding in December, the lodge was amazing well equipped and ideal for a couple of nights away. The hosts were great and very accommodating.

Quiet and relaxed

Comfortable lounge. Comfortable beds. very quiet. Generally well equipped.

Proper wine glasses would have been nice. Plastic is fine for the hot tub but not for the dinner table. It would have been useful to have been told to book restaurants in advance. The only one in walking distance only opens a few times a week and was fully booked by the time we found out. The same was true for others in the area.

Just what was required - Thank you :)

Beautiful lodge, spotlessly clean, with lots of attention to detail inside. Fully equipped kitchen, lovely welcome basket upon arrival and Karen was a pleasure to deal with. The lodge is remote, but its only a 15/20 minute walk in to the village (the food at Otterburn Mill was lovely - far nicer than the poor effort served up in the coach house). Lovely woodland walks on the door step and lots of wildlife to be seen (Red squirrels alongside the lodge were the favourites). The lodge is located well on the site too.

A really small point but, Extra towels for the hot tub, or even just a mention to bring extra (I didn't notice anywhere if it did say that). Worst case scenario they could be popped in the washer/drier though.
