4 Keeper's Cottage, Hillfield Village

The location of Hillfield Village is excellent. The surroundings are beautiful, the village itself is well maintained and looked after. Very peaceful, relaxing and tranquil. The layout of 4 Keepers Cottage is great, with an en-suite and seperate bathroom, always a bonus.

The cleanliness of the cottage could be improved. A deeper change over clean is needed around bathroom plug/sink holes, visible mould/dirt around the rims. Just a simple soft brush needed for a good scrub. The bedding on the twin beds upstairs had black stains on them. Dirty plates and pots were found in the drawer. Lots of hair on the kitchen counter near the door was found. I appreciate there are alot of cottages to clean and maintain etc. I have been there myself. Just a few bits need a little bit more attention to detail, not only for guests but for the health of the property itself. The dining table is not fully functional, perhaps the layout could be reconsidered, furniture wise.

It was very comfortable and well stocked with all you need for your stay apart from food of course, a good location close to Dartmouth and just up the road from the Park and Ride which was ideal.

It was a good space for four people although a little warm upstairs as the sky lights don’t open, a fan might be useful. It has a good layout and well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge area.

Peace & quite in the countryside

The staff that run the property are brilliant. They’re very helpful if you have problems like we did, they are friendly helpful and will do their best to sort it out for you. The property itself we had problems with the decking was unsafe. The key was broken, and the television is just a joke. We left a day earlier because the telly had no picture at all on the last day ! This may not be an issue with some people, but my husband has quite a few health issues, so he likes to watch the TV as we were not planning on going out every day so that was a real letdown, unfortunately.

Property is clean. The beds are comfortable so was the sofa, and the located is great very quiet.
