I have to be honest here and write the trough: This guesthouse is ok, but not exceptional. It is an old house, close to the train station. The place is clean and our room was OK. BUT there is only one toilet and shower, at the same place, so all the guests have to share that. The kitchen is very small also, with basic cutlery. Here is the explanation for the 10 that most people give: the old lady that takes care of the house and lives next door asks you for 10 from the beginning until the end! She is kind and takes care and and gives you fruits etc and asks for 10…Constantly. So the place is OK for 1-2 days but definitely its not an exceptional place. Go there but expect a modest guesthouse.

The host should not ask for a good review, people feel obliged and guilty because she is nice but we evaluate the place and not the person.

A modern Japanese-style house with shared bathroom and kitchen, great vibes. The hostess, Syoga was the hospitality itself, welcoming and friendly. She shared some tips and little welcoming snacks, she provided us with extra blankets due to cold nights, and when I caught a cold, she helped me out with some medicine that allowed me to get through the sickness much easier. Location is great: less than 10 minutes walk to the subway station (direct line to major Osaka transportation hubs) and Haykyu train station to Kyoto. The neighborhood is quiet. The room is bigger than I would expect in a house like this.

If I had to nitpick, the sliding door to the bathroom has a character and needs some getting used to.

I think this is the best place to stay in Osaka. You are very close to all the busy and fun spots but get to come home to a beautiful calm and clean room with the most wonderful host. She is such a sweet lady. You will not regret staying here.
