We had a most enjoyable and peaceful stay in spacious accomodation with views to die for!

The location was superb with an uninterrupted view from dining/living room of Achill Sound and the mountains beyond. In addition the location was very quiet and peaceful. However Athill Sound shops were very close; only a few minutes drive away.

Some kitchen utensils were lacking but when we raised this issue with our host he arranged for two items to be delivered to us the next day.

Fabulous stay in a beautiful cottage with spectacular views across Achill Sound.

The property was spotlessly clean with modern and comfortable furnishings. More importantly, the views were stunning and it was convenient for the shops and pubs in Achill Sound. The charge point in the nearby car park is very convenient for an EV driver.

It was challenging to get in, arriving late at night in the rain. It would be super helpful if the property had a name plate on the garden wall by the gate.

Lovely stay in Achill!

The view from the property is beautiful. Very clean and well kept place. Nice kitchen to make your own meals if needed. There is a cozy pub just around the corner for the pint of Guinness :)

Beautifully decorated and spacious, fantastic view which took our breath away! David was a great host and very responsive. The beds were super comfy! Cooked many meals in the very well equipped kitchen. We will return!

Beautiful location, handy for local shops and the pub . Location perfect for walks on the Greenway, great base for travelling around Achill and beyond Kitchen well stocked with equipment. Beautiful decor through out The host was amazing, emails before we arrived with information about activities happening on the Island and also regular check in's via text to ensure everything was ok at the property

Amazing house

It was so modern and had everything we needed as a family. The views from the rooms were fabulous. The view from the picture window for the breakfast table was indescribable so picturesque. The house was so clean and had every facility we needed. We were delighted we couldn't hear any noise in the bedrooms from the kitchen area it was so nice. We loved that it was so private and quiet. When the tide went out we could stroll to the water side as a family. The memories we made were amazing. Our little girl was fascinated by the neighbourly sheep next door. We watched the local fisherman going to get the catch and returning by tractor from the shore. It was such a safe locationfor small kids. Walking distance in the mornings to the shops.

It suited our style of holiday with small children so if you want peaceful and relaxed atmosphere it's for you. We loved it. It is away from the main beaches of achill but you arr on the water side for rock pools and family fun still. Just amazing.

Our little family loved Barr an Uisce

The view was amazing and changed every hour with the weather. It's so beautiful to just sit at the dining table and take it all in. Location was perfect - short walk to playground, shops, chemist etc. We loved walking the small section of the greenway that was accessible just a few minutes walk from the house. Buggy friendly walk (as long as you don't mind pushing up hills). Keel beach and Keem Bay are both just a short drive away. Barr an Uisce is very family-friendly with high chair provided and a few kids games that our daughter loved. Communication from David, the host, was excellent. The property was immaculate. The exterior and the interior are very well designed and so homely. The kitchen was well equipped. I could go on and on. An amazing property. So comfortable. Don't hesitate to book your stay here!

Fantastic property

Everything was immaculate. So modern and finished to a very high standard. Bed's were very comfortable with 3 big bedrooms. Location is a 2 minute walk to the main street but the house is located at the waterfront. Our host sent us messages of thing's of interest to do on our stay. He couldn't have been more helpful. Everyone loved our stay. Will definitely look to go back.

So good I nearly don't want to leave a positive review as I'm afraid it'll be booked out forever!

The location is fantastic. Panoramic views of Achill Sound from the house and garden. Sea swimming in the Sound 30 seconds from the front door. Piping hot water in the modern showers afterwards. Walking distance to the only supermarket on the island and (almost as importantly) pub. Walking distance to bike rental and greenway. Short drives to all major scenic spots - and there are loads of them - on the island. House was cleaned to hospital standard. Well equipped kitchen with everything you'd need to make a super dinner. Atmospheric electric stove in the living room. We'll be back for sure.

Fantastic property, great location, excellent view. Very spacious with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Property very clean and finished to a high standard. David was extremely helpful in advance of booking and during our stay. Would highly recommend a visit to Achill Island and worth the extra few pounds for this property for comfort and luxury after a day of exploring the island.

We ( family of 5) spent a glorious week in Achill in the amazing comfort of "Barr an Uisce". The house is walking distance to shops and bars and a short drive to Achill's many beaches! We really enjoyed the location. The house is spotless, so comfortable and you can tell a lot of attention went into the design of the property. The picture window at the dining area perfectly framed the beautiful view directly in front of the house. The kitchen was very well equipped for self catering and the crockery and cutlery were of excellent quality. Bedrooms were perfect! Everyone had a great nights sleep. The house was always a pleasant temperature as it has underfloor heating. We also enjoyed a BBQ or two during the week and the patio set in front of the house was a great hit! The owner was very helpful and ensured everything ran smoothly during our stay! We had the best time and didn't want to leave! Julie and Brian

Most relaxing holiday in years.

The house was beautiful and airy and the views from the windows looking onto the water and the mountains was spectacular! Beds were extremely comfortable and we all slept great. Lovely big front garden, which was great for our 3 boys. Nice too to have a table and seats outside to sit. Very close to SuperValu and within driving distance of all the lovely beaches. The host was very helpful and communicative. It was also a big plus to have a washing machine and clothes line! Will definitely come back next year!

This house was beautiful inside and out. Pristinely clean and very comfortable. The view out to the water was spectacular to wake up to every morning. And the fireplace was a lovely treat - very cozy. The market nearby had all the staples you would need, and there are restaurants and a pub within walking distance. This place is truly a treasure.

Best place to stay in Achill

It was easily the nicest place on Achill I've stayed in (and I've been to Achill many times). The house was superbly located, near the Sound and with amazing views across the bay. It was warm, well equipped, and very comfortable. The owner looked after anything we needed. Will definitely be back.

The house is in a fantastic location, beautiful views of the water and mountains, short walk to shops, pubs & restaurants and an easy car journey to the best beaches & scenery in Ireland. My children loved exploring the shore line, literally metres from the house. The house itself was very clean, modern, comfortable and well equipped. Our hosts could not have been more helpful.
