Modern House in the center of Villefranche sur Mer

host was accommodating with time of arrival. always very responsive. high end finishing in the house. new and well maintained. spacious, equipped. location is top. highly recommended.

no view. a couple of small stairs/steps to reach there (mind the bags).

The location was close to shops, bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants and a 10min walk to the beach front. Plenty of space in the living area to hang out on the comfy couch or eat at the dining table. The bedrooms felt spacious enough to open a large suitcase and the air conditioners worked well as we had some very hot days. Super handy to have a washing machine and ironing facilities. 10min walk downhill to get to the beach, but the walk back uphill and up steps is challenging. Take your time with little breaks and maybe a gelato stop to help you get up that hill. There are small beach clubs along the beach where you can rent a daybed & umbrella if you dont want to sit on the rocks at the beach. Lots of lovely restaurants near the accomodation to try, we ate many beautiful meals.

The bathrooms felt a bit cramped upstairs but they were clean. The upstairs shower drain was slow to drain so we had to push a hanger down it to clear the blockage, maybe a bit of drain maintenance is due. One of the beds upstairs felt lumpy to sleep on, might be time to update a mattress. We would have loved for the kitchen to have a big jug to keep in the fridge for cold water and more wine and champagne glasses (not plastic ones).

The location of the property was convenient, close to restaurants and walkable to the beach and train station. Unfortunately several issues made the overall stay quite disappointing.

The internet connection was very slow when more than one person was connected, which made it difficult to work or stream. One of the upstairs air conditioning units was leaking water, and this made it impossible to sleep in that room. The host acknowledged the issue but offered no apology or solution, and we had to rearrange sleeping plans ourselves. We also reported that the shower was draining very slowly, but never received any response or follow-up. The upstairs floors were very creaky, making it difficult to move around quietly, especially during the night. Lastly, we never received a proper introduction—the host never shared their name or used ours, which made the experience feel impersonal.
