Nice but I wouldn't come back

Very kind staff. Small bottles of shampoo and shower gel provided. Plenty of shelves in the room to place your suitcase and clothes. Patio with a hammock, but lots of mosquitoes. Working fan that is not very noisy. Working refrigerator. Restaurant (not included with the room, but good, with a nice space and a view where you can eat). Beach 3 minutes from the bungalow via a steep descent; despite this, it is close and quick to reach.

There was a DIRTY SANITARY PAD stuck in the MOSQUITO NETTING RIGHT ABOVE THE BED. The bed was hard. Bed sheets and towels were dirty or at least stained. No mosquito screens on the windows. Out of the two lights in the room, one was broken. SHOWER WITH COLD WATER ONLY. The bathroom faucet worked but moved when you turned it on. Many ants in the bathroom, although they were not a big problem. The toilet seat was dirty and damaged (black streaks).

Overall I had a good experience. The price is good and its a bungalow so one shouldn't expect anything luxurious. I

- nice location right by Tanote Bay, which is one of the loveliest beaches on the island - in the midst of nature, calm and quiet at night - clean and spacious

- although the owners were friendly and helpful, they were high most of the time - no toilet paper, we got napkins - it is hard to get too if you don't have a scooter

It should be 10/10!

The location is superb. Right in the middle of nature with all the accompanying sights and sounds. Tanote Bay is very pleasant indeed. The mosquito net on the bed is perfect for a good nights sleep and I found the room basic, clean and comfortable. The lady that works there was very friendly and welcoming, as were the others initially. I can understand the 10/10 reviews but it’s lacking too much like a kettle, drinking water & soap to be so highly rated. The cold showers aren’t a problem as it’s quite hot and with plenty of insect repellent I was fine.

Similar to other reviews there are so many quick and easy fixes for this place which won’t happen as the owner and his son seem to be more interested in cannabis. Firstly, the hammock was still broken despite the previous review saying the same from a few days earlier. I fixed it in 10 minutes, not that anyone noticed. I also booked a sea view and didn’t get it. The whole external area needs a clean and repaint and the area could be better if all the clutter and rubbish was removed or hidden away. Music blares out of the bar even when there are no customers. I very politely asked for it to be turned down a little and the male owner gave me this rambling nonsense about it being his only source of income and the bungalows made him no money. Really? I barely saw any customers in the place. His son, rather pathetically, seemed to ignore me for the rest of my stay.

Great value for money directly at tanote bay

We loved it! Cute bungalows, jungle vibe and great location directly at Tanote Bay. Tip: If you want to save money, rent a scooter directly upon arrival and drive up your luggage yourself, otherwise it will cost you 400 to the bungalows and 400 back to the pier to rent a motorbike… which you need to get around without becoming poor :)

Only suggestions, all in all great value for money -could use a nightstand (occupied by fan) -windows should have mosquito nets! It gets really hot during the day and you can’t really open the windows for too long unless you want to be visited by big spiders and a scorpion like us :) -our hammock broke and they didn’t fix it so we couldn’t use it anymore which was sad because it’s not comfortable to sit on the ground

Superchill oldschool thai basic bungalow. Wish i could have stayed longer! The family is very friendly and location is great in middle of nature and walking distance to beach.

Superb

The location just next to Tanote Bay was exactly what I was looking for. Lovely sunrise and absolutely quiet. You can borrow snorkeling equipment and the staff is very nice. It feels more like a homestay than a hotel. I loved my bungalow!

If you don't dare to drive a scooter over the steep hills of Koh Tao you will need to get taxis. The address on Google maps seems to be not exactly correct.

A tad disappointing

Beautiful location, minutes from beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed a meal in the bar. The walk to the beach is down a VERY steep path and I found it quite tricky Only cold water but a cold shower is quite refreshing!

Nylon sheets were uncomfortable and a strange choice for a hotel, room never made up over our 4 night stay. No toiletries or water in room. Drinks pricey compared to other bars nearby.

great location away from people. comfort, privacy, greenery in a circle. rent a scooter in Poseidon on the beach. 200thb per day. the beach is 2 minutes from the bungalow. we were in Jah, 10 days, and we will definitely come and one more thing. when you go down to the main street, across the road from the french market, behind the greengrocer, there is the best coffee and tea on the whole island. don't miss it. it cost 30thb. name picture below

Exceptional

The accomodation is located next to Tanote Beach which is great for snorkeling. This time of the year it is quiet here (except for some reggae music from the Jah Bar reggae bar). For little money I had my own bungalow with balcony, bathroom and decent bed with mosquito net. It is a 15min ride on a scooter to the center of Koh Tao. All in all a very nice place to chill and snorkel.

Perfect stay 🤩

We really liked to stay few days at Jah Bar Bungalows. Indeed, the treehouse was really calm, savage and lush, far from the tourists, it was really appreciable. Also, Tip and her husband were really kind and attentive, the bar was so nice with a beautiful view on the sea and the jungle, and they serve really good piña colada!! The song was also perfect!! We absolutely recommend this hotel 😊

Great place in the middle of the jungle on the best bay on koh tao. super cool host that has a reggae bar 20 meters from the place. if you’re planning to rent a scooter, bring some skills, the roads are nothing for beginners.

Peaceful jungle location near Ao Tanote Bay

We really liked the chilled and quiet jungle setting. The location is a short but steep walk up from Ao Tanote Bay which has great snorkeling and nice restaurants. They lent us snorkel equipment for free and free use of their motorbike to go to town to get cash.

The location and people at Jah Bar are out of this world - it’s such a beautiful place and I think the only place I will ever stay in Koh Tao. Highly recommend for anyone comfortable in a bungalow that doesn’t need AC :)

Great place for a very reasonable price

The bungalow was spacious, surrounded on one side by the jungle (I like to listen to the sounds of the jungle), and was very close to the beach (2-3 minutes walk). The terrace with a hammock was a pleasant place to relax around noon, when it is hotter. Everything was great: location, sea, snorkeling, restaurants on the beach, hiking trips to nearby viewpoints. And I really appreciated the behavior of the German hosts (co-owners of the bungalows). They were very helpful and friendly.

I was not very happy with the food I had once (masaman curry - too sweet and generally "boring"). The restaurant and bar were generally the weak point of this place. Although it is cozy there, they probably do not serve guests there very often, they do not have constant operation there, so the guest cannot expect the same services as in a classic restaurant.

Very nice and clean bungalow with everything you need, located in a peaceful part of the island. The first night we did not have electricity, as power supply was cut off by a fallen tree during a storm. The problem was fixed very quickly, right the next day and we did not have to pay for that night. Be careful when using Google maps navigation, it took us the wrong way the first time.

Nice cozy bungalows and a bar with a great view of the ocean. Beach is only a short walk down the hill, where you'll find a beautiful bay to relax and snorkel. The owners couldn't be more welcoming and helpful with anything. Great place with great people!

Le site est magnifique, la configuration familiale de l'hôtel, la proximité de la plage de tanote bay tout en étant dans la végétation , la déco roots mais cosy, le confort de la literie, on se sent plus en thailande que dans les grands resorts.

Pas de wifi, pas d'eau chaude, pas dérangeant mais pas indiqué sur l'annonce, pas d’eau minérale ni de verres, ni de cafe ni de the dans les chambres, les draps et les " couvertures" type serviettes de bains pas pratiques du tout, du personnel attachant mais versatiles, et surtout (mais c'est valable pour tout koh tao), un e gestion lamentable des dechets plastiques avec cette manie d'incinerer les platiques a cote des bungalows, beurk.

la propriétaire pas fiable. Nous avions un accord oral pour prolonger notre séjour d'une semaine et nous avons du libérer les lieux car elle a préféré accorder la priorité à des clients déjà connus et qui venaient pour un séjour plus long
