Charming rustic villa with stunning scenery, great hospitality and a few areas for refresh

The property itself is beautiful — rustic, full of character and charm. The pool and gazebo were perfect spots to relax, and the surrounding scenery was stunning (even better than the photos). Inside, the villa had everything we needed, with plenty of utensils and cookware for home meals. I even used Deliveroo to order from Carrefour, and groceries arrived within the hour. Two of the rooms have newer en-suite bathrooms, which was a great bonus. Marco, the owner, was kind, respectful and very responsive — even helping us arrange taxis when needed. There’s also a lovely restaurant about a 15-minute walk away, which made evenings out easy and enjoyable. A wonderful stay overall

The villa has a lot of charm with its traditional character, though this also means the WiFi only works in the kitchen, dining and living areas. The thick old walls add to the feel of the property but do limit the signal. We managed fine, though it did cut out a few times and needed resetting. The linen could do with a fresher wash, and having a few more bath towels would be helpful. I’d also suggest bringing your own shower gel, as only hand soap was provided. The shared bathroom is functional but quite dated and could benefit from a little refresh.

Great house near Lucca with fabulous garden and pool

The house was great for us. The highlight is the outside area, the pool and garden (with plenty of shade and countryside views) were spectacular. We had concerns about the fact that there might be disturbance from the upstairs neighbours, but this was not the case.they also had shuttered windows so we did not feel overlooked when relaxing in the garden. We were also worried about the lack of aircon but in July 32-34 degree heat the house stayed cool. Well equipped kitchen, good bedrooms and bathrooms . Comfortable living room that we barely used. A couple of local restaurants within 15-20 minutes walked, and Lucca city a short drive away.

There weren't any pool towels provided, but this was quickly rectified by the friendly host. WiFi is almost non existent in the two bedrooms at the back of the house.

The landscaped garden and swimming pool were very well maintained. Villa was spacious and had everything needed while still retaining the feel of authentic rustic Italy. Great hosts who were attentive to every detail. Very good communication with them. Thankyou Marco for a great stay.

Enjoyable stay

It was very peaceful and the owner was very helpful and responsive. It had everything we needed e.g an electric kettle, good powerful shower etc. Private secure parking was welcome and it was an easy trip into Lucca. We also enjoyed a brilliant and very cheap meal at Ristorante Da Nonno Mariano.

It's an apartment within a larger villa with other properties next to and above. This meant you could hear people walking around/moving furniture above and at times had people right outside the window, although there were net curtains to provide privacy. I also found the mattrass very uncomfortable, although appreciate this is very much personal preference. The villa is quite dark, but the photos on the listing are representative of this.

Everything was wonderful. The host was extremely friendly and helpful and the apartment was great. Very Spacious and easy accessible. We traveled with two small kids and they loved it. The pool was amazing and on one end actually very deep, what we appreciated. We especially loved the wooden sun chairs.

Some of the dishes were a bit dirty, but since it's a holiday home this can happen if the previous guests did not clean carefully. And the wifi does not reach all the way up to the rooms in the back because of the thick walls, but if you want to do a phone detox, that's the perfect location!

The garden and the large pool is amazing. The villa is located in a quiet neighborhood and is nice and clean. Close by there’s a great pizza place called Zio Joe. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We would for sure like to come back😊

Besser hätte das Haus und die Umgebung nicht sein können!

Es war einfach ein Traum! Ob wohl es Ende April noch nicht so warm war, haben wir uns morgens in den tollen Pool begeben. Die Landschaft drumherum ist phantastisch und die Lage sehr gut, man ist schnell in Pisa und Lucca. Sehr sehr sehr zu empfehlen!

Morgens waren in der Nachbarschaft laute Rasenmäher zu hören, die das Frühstück auf der schönen Terrasse etwas störten… Aber 2 Mal kam aus der Nachbarschaft auch schöne Opernmusik… die passte dann wieder zur traumhaften Umgebung.
