Very handy as a central location for seeing the south of Cornwall
We were woken up at 2 and 3 in the morning on one of the nights by some other revellers staying in separate accom on the property

cosy rustic clean
Hard to find and when I asked a question about what would be there ie tea coffee just kept getting a bog standard reply that didn’t answer questions?

Hosts were very welcoming. Lovely location, Clean and cozy with plenty of room for a family if 5.
Despite reading instructions of how to get there it was very difficult to find. Network was weak. We were fine once we got wifi at the barn.

It was clean and comfortable. Thoughtful extra touches like milk and juice in the fridge.
The shower in the room with double and single bed ran cold very quickly.
It was tricky to find.

Accommodation was perfect for 8 of us, plenty of room, all the facilities are good, ideal with 3 separate en suite bedrooms.
Location is amazing, so quiet and no light pollution.
The farm is a working farm which added to the whole experience, thoroughly recommended.

Garras Barn was beautiful, had everything you needed and more. Cupboards had decent frying pans, pots, an array of glasses, mugs, plates etc, more than enough. The only thing I felt was missing was a long handled dustpan and brush and a potato peeler. Was spacious, rural, peaceful and loved hearing the cows mooing in the background. There's a pub when you come directly out the lane called the Old Plough, lovely food if don't want to cook, staff are friendly too with a lovely pub dog.
welcome gift was amazing and very thoughtful, thank you!
The only thing I could say is the lanes to get up to the farm, are very narrow, typical cornish lane if I'm honest, towards the end it's a partially concreted lane at a very steep gradient. Not nice to drive up at night. There are dips at the beginning by the little bridge, not great when heavy rain.
If I'm honest, if you could change the rd slightly to get up to the property and make it more accessible it would be 100% amazing !!

Beautiful location on a farm, and the cottage was well equipped, very clean and spacious. Hosts were lovely and even took time to let our daughter help on the farm. There was a lovely welcome of sweets and cornish scones, and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Had a lovely holiday.
Everything was lovely!!!

Host left us a lovely welcome pack with groceries and chocolates.
We loved the cottage and facilities but the lane leading towards and up to the cottage was extremely difficult to negotiate because of the deep potholes and very rough ground our car had to drive over.
Even a 4x4 car would have found it difficult, so our ordinary Kia estate really suffered for it.

Amazing scenery! My son who is a townie loved the countryside scenery! The rooster and cows were such a selling point for us! There was so much for us to do around the barn.
The hosts were amazing and helped out when we needed help.
Very friendly family.
I didn't know that there was so many hills to get there but the barn made up for the unexpected hills.
The place was a little unused so therefor it had lots of cobwebs and spiders but nothing that a little wipe over didn't solve.

It's not bed and breakfast any longer, but a self catering barn conversion. Hosts provided essential welcome pack with local milk and tea.
The private drive is precarious and bumpy with potholes. 4WD vehicle preferred

Incredible Accommodation, facilities were better than I expected, I booked this at very short notice to go to an event at The Eden Project. Me and my friends were over the moon at the quality after a five hour drive from London
The place was a little awkward to get to, you definitely need to have a car. but after you get your bearings on how to get to it , it was worth it.

Location was great and the property was very clean and comfortable.
Everything was perfect expect Right room shower. Hot water running out after few minutes so had to use other rooms for shower which delayed our plan slightly.
Still it’s manageable and enjoyed very much. Other 2 room showers are perfect and al rooms beds are comfortable.

Non stick saucepans in kitchen need replaced, most had non stick surface damaged/badly damaged. Better to use pans without non stick surface for holiday lets, these are more durable

Even though it was on a working Farm it was lovely and peaceful the cottage was well Thought Out with everything you needed all the utensils and bedding and towels are provided plus it seemed like it was very rural even though he was right on top of everything Truro was only just down the road 5-minutes hopefully we can book to go again.
The road can be a little bit tricky going up to the cottage but if you take your time and go steady it's no problem even though my car is very low to the ground I had no problem going in and out if you take your time but it definitely wouldn't put me off of going again loved it

We booked this property prior to the Coronavirus problem and for obvious reasons had to reschedule the booking to late October 2020 when hopefully the pandemic will have subsided. We were then told that we would have to pay more than twice the original rate for the same 6 day time frame. When we asked to shorten the booking to 3 days to remain within our budget (400 GBP) we were told that this was not possible and that we would have to pay an additional 387 GBP on top of the original 355 GBP in order to stay at the property. Our only other choice would be to cancel the booking and forfeit the 355 GBP that we originally paid for a 6 night stay. Their excuse for the exorbitant price increase was that we had now selected a school break holiday period. Every other cancellation or postponement we have made with airlines, hotels, rentals etc. due to the virus issue have been done in a very fair and considerate manner. Sykes Cottage rentals is price gouging and taking advantage of a client who through no fault of his own has had to postpone a vacation.
