Lovely stay mid October 2025

The accommodation is situated up in the mountains, accessible by foot or car. We parked the car at the lake and walked up to the accomodation through the woods. We ensured we started the walk in time so we would be at the accomodation at 6 pm, to not have to walk in the dark. Once there we were welcomed by the beautiful sunset, the warm fire stove and the very welcoming and genuine host. She made us feel at home right away. We ate a delicious dinner with homemade bread, cheese, soup, etc. Breakfast was also delicious with homemade bread and cheese, baked potatoes, baked meat, fruit jam, apples, etc. We slept in a very cosy cabin and were supplied with enough blankets to keep us nice and cosy after a hot shower. This accomodation is definitely worth the hike!

Unique and wonderful place in a breathtaking location.

Location is breathtaking! On top of a mountain near Mojkovac, accessible mainly by walking or 4×4 vehicle. The place is run by a wonderful family, very nice staff. Must note that one of the owners even met us in the nearby town to accompany us so we won't get lost on the way. Because of the cold on the mountain, we received extra blankets even without asking. The meals were great and plentifull, with probably everything home-made. Before leaving, we were offered recommendations for hiking in the near surroundings and a late checkout.

We drove a normal car up the mountain and back. This is possible but not recommended.

Wonderful nature stay

Wonderful location surrounded by nature. There are horses, cows and beautiful flowers around. The bathrooms are very clean and there´s hot water. Comfortable beds in the authentic and clean huts. Food is delicious and homemade. The hosts does everything to make your stay comfortable. Only 1 hours hike to the lake. Wifi works very good.

Beautiful place with a tricky road there

This place is magnificently beautiful. Cabins were so cute and clean and comfortable. Shower was hot. The views were amazing! Service was great, such kind people. Food was great and huge portions. Comfy bed. All around great experience All they wanted was for me to be happy.

You have two options to get there- hike 3km from the Biogradsko gora lake, fairly easy hike but at least an hour with slight inclines. Which is not ideal. Or a 35 minute drive on a gravel road that can be done by higher smaller cars or 4*4. Not a very kind road, but doable. This was all mentioned the day of my arrival. So I was not as happy about that as I couldn't cancel at that point. Based on the reviews, I knew about the gravel road, but was not sure I could do it, but I had a 1.5 cylinder Renault Catapult and that worked. The brother of the manger escorted me there. Nonetheless, it was all worth it. I'm happy I went. I stayed two nights and made sure not to move the car one day

Beautiful place, kind hosts, comfortable beds. Very well equipped with hot shower, toilets, hammoks, wifi, view platforms, etc. We took the nice 1.5h hike from the lake, where you can park the car.

My best stay in Montenegro! 1 hour walk to get there. It was super, a real beauty to stay. The food was so good!! Everything is super fresh and homemade. The bungalows are very cozy. I loved every detail of my stay here. The owners a very welcoming!

Everything - this is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind sort of place. Stunning setting on the Biogradska Gora national park, in an idyllic family homestead and your own simple little hut in amongst the animals and family who cook delicious homemade meals for you. If this place existed in the UK you would be spending £250+ for a glamping experience and it wouldn't be as good. Yes it's simple and rustic, but the views are breathtaking and the family lovely. We miss Mira, Masha, Jessie and the whole Bogavac extended family already!

We loved it all - but it's worth bearing in mind that its remoteness is its charm. If you don't feel like walking then don't come here! (although the hosts can help arrange taxis from Mojkovac if needed)

Just a beautiful place in the mountains! Quite remote, which is exactly what we were looking for - peaceful, nature at the doorstep and good views everywhere. The hosts were very attentive and the food was great.

Exceptional

I stayed 4 nights and had a lovely stay. Jovana and her family were really friendly, caring, always asking if everything is alright and if I still need something. When I was hiking in the area, I injured my foot a bit and Jovana immediately helped me and offered to take care of it. Located right at the border of the national park you can watch the sunset every evening from the small farm, also home made and self-produced food. Big recommendation:)

Read everything!

10/10 no doubt about it. If you overcome the "getting there" part.

How to get there is the hard part! If you don't have 4x4 car don't follow bookings "get direction" or else you will find yourself in a maze of single car width roads with very steep driveways. We were lost in these for about 1,5hour because there are no clear signs where to drive and how to get there. There is another way but also not mentioned in booking. You can go (as google maps tell you) to national park (3euro per person). There at the lake you can get your stuff, leave the car and follow a trail (hike in forest for around 1-1,5h) to Katun Lanista. So there are two options: 1. Unacessible by a regular car. 2. Hike after paying for a parking spot. If it was mentioned before we would still choose this place, because it was amazing. But still I think many people like us could be lost due to poor description.

What a calming and beautiful place to stay!

The host family was so friendly and welcoming. Also the food the lady cooked was amazing! There is the opportunity to walk 40 minutes through the forest to a refreshing sea. And the view … is as stunning as on the pictures!

One word: amazing

What I loved the most about Katun Lanista is the amazing family. They made me feel like home. Katun Lanista is in the middle of the National Park so you have incredible views. It’s just a small hike to the Biogradska lake. The family, the little cabinet with the traditional food made a wonderful experience for me.

Un bijou à conserver

Un endroit hors du temps rythmé et entretenu par Jovanna. Sa gentillesse, son courage et sa générosité sont une vraie source d'inspiration. La nourriture est quantitative et qualitative. Le cadre sur la colline avec les animaux, les vues sur les vallées sont exceptionnels. Le couchage est rudimentaire mais confortable et ça fait parti du tourisme rural. Se garer au lac et venir à pied est sympa.

Einmaliges Erlebnis

So schön da oben, wenn man ein wenig Einsamkeit sucht. Tiere zum anfassen, herrlicher Ausblick und eine ganz nette Gastfamilie. Abendessen und Frühstück auf der Außenterrasse unbezahlbar. Der Weg vom See Biogradska Gora ist ohne Schwierigkeiten zu laufen (1:15 Stunden) und zu finden.

Krásna príroda na samote s krásnym večerným výhladom na hory,

Raňajky boli super , všetko domácej výroby , mlieko ráno nadojené. Ubytovanie je skôr pre dobrodružné povahy. Je vysoko v horách . Domáci sú super. Ak chcete ísť vlastným autom až na ubytovanie potrebujete SUV 4x4 . Majiteľ Vás vyzdvihne dole v meste na veľkom terénnom aute, takže Vás v prípade ,že nemáte terénne auto pohodlne dovezie na ubytovanie.

Relax assoluto

La struttura è indicata benissimo su varie strade (cosa non scontata nei Balcani), comunque arrivati a Mojkovc, andate verso la Stazione Ferroviaria. Arrivati ad un bivio, voi prendete a SX la stradina che sale (sulla DX 100 mt . dopo c'è la Stazione). Strada asfaltata per metà, ma gli ultimi 5 km. si sale su strada sterrata con buche (non preoccupatevi a meno che non abbiate una macchina molto bassa) Si arriva a 1342 mt. e sembra di essere nel paese di Heidi, vi accoglierà Giovanna (il nome lo abbiamo italianizzato), una ragazza piacevolissima ed estremamente gentile che vi darà tutte le informazioni per le gite nelle vicinanze. La colazione è compresa nel prezzo e vi consigliamo di cenare in loco con prodotti locali coltivati dalla sua famiglia. Il prezzo si aggira più o meno sui 10 Euro.
