Wonderful with room for improvement

Our main hope was seeing the Northern Lights and since nature delivered Orcas View is an excellent location! Quiet, loads of room around the property, dark and of course the very comfortable bay window meant we didn’t need to go outside every time. The house was clean, kitchen and kitchenware more than complete, nice bathroom with wonderful underfloor heating and a (clean) washing machine. The living / dining / kitchen area was very spacious. More than enough towels and bedlinnen. We had some issues (found a broken planter pot upon arrival, kettle was leaking, WiFi was not working and at one point the water from the taps was brown) but the company handled our concerns swiftly and they were very friendly. Apparently the brown water can happen with heavy winds and / or rain but still completely safe to use. Also the digital document with information was very useful, they update it during your stay and even provide an aurora alert via sms.

I wish I could be completely positive, but unfortunately the bedrooms were a letdown. The bunkbed is on the smaller side and therefore is not comfortable for adults also the mattresses are on the harder side. In this room there’s no space for any luggage. The other bed had some dents and although this room was a little spacier, still nothing compared to the very spacious living area. It would have been better with a little smaller living area and bigger bedrooms.

Superb

Great location, a bit isolated from the shops but with a bit of forward planning this isn't a problem. Very well equipped kitchen, two balconies.

There isn't any outdoor furniture to sit on the terrace, a couple of chairs would be nice.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in traumhafter Lage

Sehr schöne, geräumige Unterkunft, die unsere Erwartungen übertroffen hat. Die ruhige Lage direkt am Meer mit wunderbarem Ausblick hat uns begeistert! Die verglaste Terrasse war ein toller Ort, um nach unseren Tagestouren mit Blick auf die Mitternachtssonne zu entspannen. Die Nähe zu Leknes mit mehreren Supermärkten ermöglicht eine gute Selbstversorgung.

Der zweite Sessel im "Wintergarten" müsste nun wirklich erneuert werden und trübt das ansonsten tolle Erlebnis, dort zu sitzen..... Auch die Elektrik und einige Küchen-Utensilien sollten überarbeitet werden.

Auf dem Balkon von Orcas View die Mitternachtssonne zu geniessen, ist ein unvergessliches Erlebnis!

Begeistert waren wir vom verglasten Balkon (Wintergarten), von welchem aus wir einen phantastischen Blick aufs Meer und die Mitternachtssonne hatten. Zudem haben wir die ruhige Lage sehr genossen. Wenn mal zwei Autos gleichzeitig in Vestresand zu sehen waren, dann war das bereits die Rushhour 😉

Es wäre falsch zu sagen, dass uns etwas nicht gefallen hat. Aber ein paar wenige Punkte als konstruktive Kritik sind: - die Deckenbeleuchtung im Wohnzimmer funktionierte nicht (Sicherungen haben wir überprüft). - wünschenswert wäre ein oder zwei kleine Kochtöpfe für die kleinen Herdplatten. - der eine Sessel im Wintergarten ist total zerschlissen und sollte ersetzt werden - das Netzkabel des TV-Gerätes reicht nicht bis zur nächsten Steckdose. Ein Verlängerungskabel würde dem Abhilfe verschaffen.
