Rui is lovely and very helpful. Casa do Avô was a great place to stay, secluded and beautiful. The pool is small but great to dip in. Beds are comfortable. The house is split into two, one area with kitchen/living room, plus bathroom and wine store downstairs. This is joined to the four bedrooms by a sweet indoor walkway with a fireplace. At the end is a small swimming pool and a large outdoor lounging area. Everything (apart from the astro turf in the lounging area, which doesn't belong in such a natural setting) felt well considered and peaceful. The views are beautiful, especially at sunset. We loved our stay.
Stock up on supplies before you go, the nearest reliably opening supermarket is 16 minutes drive (so about an hours round trip) which is time much better spent relaxing at Casa do Avô.

The house is isolated and there is a lot of privacy. The only noises are nature and farming related. It was one of the most beautiful places I had the pleasure to visit. There is a perfect combination between rustic and modern. Amazing internet connection.
