The location.
The pillows were flat like a pancake. There is a learning curve to unlock the door to the unit. I hope the owners change it to a better one for future customers.

This is not a 5* hotel but a rooming house in an old but well maintained apartment building in Rome. Near the Vatican (as near goes in Rome), about a block from the Ottaviano Metro, and two blocks from a taxi stand (although, of course, you could call a taxi/uber to your front door), around the corner from all the medium priced bars, restaurants and passeggiatashopping you could want. At first I was not impressed but after being there 5 minutes 😜, I realized the charm of the place, appreciated the accommodations and the genuine kindness of the owner and staff.i would stay here again if I could get a room with a window that opens to the courtyard, as it is quieter AND you can hang the day’s clothes in the window to freshen up.
We chose to stay near the Vatican, however, staying in that area is kind of far from all the other sites. Since we had our 13 year-old granddaughter with us, we mostly TAXI to everything at night, or far things during the day to get started. Pretty much all the taxi rides were about €18-€25.

Everything was fantastic! We had bottled water every day in the mini fridge and it was so close to the Metro. Lots of restaurants and Gelato near by. Good location to the top attractions in Rome as you have easy access to the Metro.
There is a major street and restaurant right below the windows. Can get noisy but if you close the windows and turn on the AC it will drown out the noise.

Great location and very helpful staff.
Lots of noise from bar downstairs and right on main road. I used ear plugs on the second night.
