施設内は大変綺麗に保たれていて良かったです。

シングルベッドの幅が狭かった

The instructions from the host were very clear and addressed everything I needed to know for my stay. The house itself has a lot of things that I find especially useful for a family beyond basic things like forks and spoons. The place is old but feels very clean. Lovely view, only a few minutes away from the train station, walkable to a large grocery store (about 17 min on foot). The auto camping ground 10 min from Kinugawa Koen station has day use onsen and the river is very pretty. Crystal clear water.

I would love a thicker futon. Ended up pulling an extra futon out from the closet to double up.

Easy self-check in. Good communication with the host. The house came with a manual made by the host with instructions on everything in English which cleared up any confusion. Very quiet isolated town. The kitchen was fully equipped, I was able to get basic ingredients at the 7-11 and cook most of my meals. The tatami room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and nice with a small bathtub. The washing machine worked great and you can hang your clothes on the balcony. Plenty of room for your luggage and to hang up your clothes. The wifi worked fine and the kitchen table was suitable to do a little work if you needed to.

Watch your head in the house. If you are over 175cm tall, you can hit your head on some of the door frames! Also, I could not sleep on the western style beds because I could feel the metal springs, so I just used the futons and slept in the tatami mat room which was super comfortable, but not for everyone. The location is a bit of a walk from the train station. It's fine with just a backpack, but if you have more luggage or strollers you should know that you will need to use the overpass from the front to the rear of the train station, there is no elevator. Then there is a short walk up a small hill on the road, then there is a few meters of a gravel road. There is nothing nearby the house. While the train station is a 5 to 10 minute walk, restaurants, the 7-11 and the Lawson are all 10 to 20 minutes to reach on foot. Very few restaurants or shops in the town are open in the evening. The nearest supermarket is far out of the town, only reachable if you are driving. this was not an issue for me because I wanted the isolation.

The apartment had most of the basic needs, no coffeemaker though, but a kettle. It was EXTREMELY small for a 2 bedroom apartment, but it worked for a couple nights. The directions to everything was clearly labeled in English. The price was very reasonable.

It was not the cleanest house, we kept finding hairs in the sheets and even in the dishes. The worst was the grumpy neighbor knocking on our door and telling us we couldn't even drive on the road that went directly by the house. It was his property and we were only to drive on the opposite side of the house ( if both apartments were occupied it would be impossible to not do so).
