Quiet family run accommodation a short stay out of town. Great home cooked meal for extra $, comfortable dorm room, basic kitchen facilities. The owner organised the onsen for my last nights stay after a few big days which was wonderful, I also received some great recommendations for nearby walks (Kirifuri Falls & Highlands). The walk from town by the river and viewing the mountains is a great way to start and end your day :)
Slightly older facilities - everything was clean but had a musty smell.

The hosts are lovely people who are very welcoming. The bed was comfy, and the heated blanket made for a cosy night. The local scenery is beautiful, and you can easily go for nice walks from the hostel. The large living area is ideal for big groups. It would be a good spot in summertime.
The hostel is a bit far from town. The bathroom was not the cleanest. The washroom felt exposing due to the windows. Only one washroom would present difficulties with a multitude of guests.
