The staff were very welcoming and friendly; we were really treated very well here and we also observed them going above and beyond to help other guests - for example, providing adjustments to meals according to need/preference. They speak a little English but not much - I'd recommend this hotel best for those with a little ability to speak Japanese or who are willing to go with the flow. The meals were absolutely gorgeous and extremely generous! We were very impressed by the hard working chefs and the quality. They also serve delicious local sake. The bath element is just a big bathroom rather than an onsen type of facility, so you have to book your time, but it wasn't too much trouble. The location is good - a bit of a walk from the station and seems a little strange at first as it's on a residential road but it is signposted and it's nice and quiet, and an easy stroll to many sightseeing areas in Aizu Wakamatsu.

There was only one thing which was that I had an allergic reaction to something. I thought it was hay fever at first but it cleared up during the day and returned at night, so possibly there were dust mites in the room. I didn't say anything to staff, and I can't be positive there was anything specific in the room that was causing it. No one else in my group had any trouble. Absolutely everything else was wonderful!

Wonderful owners, helpful and friendly. Definitely felt like home away from home! Cannot recommend this place enough! Breakfast and dinner was a splendid treat, always something different and absolutely delicious. Portions so generous I had to take my time to finish every meal! Absolutely wonderful, I’m sorry to be leaving but I’ll certainly be back!

One of the employees was very friendly and very kind. She managed to handle many tasks at the same times.
