About this house rental

Hummingbird Holler is a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom home in a stunning 5 acre setting (no hot tub). The best part is we are close to everything. Old Man's Cave, Rockhouse, Conkle's Hollow, Cantwell Cliffs, Tar Hollow State Park, and even Grandma Faye's are all very close! Forget something? The grocery store is just up the road in Laurelville or Kroger is in Logan.

Hill Willie's Hideaways, LLC has tried to make this feel like home by providing internet (poor quality, but the only option), DirecTV in the master and living room on 50" and 65" TVs, and a land line. There is an Onkyo stereo that you can bluetooth and enjoy your own music (Just please keep it down after 10 for the neighbors). Karaoke Machine for more fun!
We have a huge kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, microwave, 2 coffee makers (Keurig w/pods and one that grinds your beans), complete dinner set and more!
Feel like grilling out? We have provided a gas grill! There is even a picnic shelter to sit and enjoy your fresh grilled goods down by the creek! Afterwards, relax by the fire and have some s'mores! We have a 7x10 concrete block patio by the fire pit!
The spacious master bedroom boasts a King size bed and two dressers. The second bedroom offers a queen, and the third has a set of bunk beds with a trundle bed. You can bring the whole family! The large dining room table seats 6 easily and we have extra chairs. We even have a washer and dryer for you to use.
Sitting on either of the two porches or inside with the windows open, you can hear the sounds of the small creek that lines the property. We added a 600lb capacity tree swing right by the creek in the big maple tree. You are free to roam the woods as the property lines are clearly marked by both driveways and flags in the woods. There is a short trail that goes up the back hill between the garage and the house and comes out by the shooting range. As time goes on, we will be expanding these hiking trails.
At the far end of the property you will find a shooting range if you want to exercise your second amendment rights. During the shut down, we built and installed a new shooting table for either right or left hand shooters at the 25 yard area. There are no plinking type targets to avoid ricochet and injuries.
We also added a 6 ft x 6ft dry wood storage rack. We will be harvesting wood from the property for you and try to keep it stocked.
In the spring and summer of 2020, we transplanted 1045 new perennial flowers and hostas around the property. We will continue to work on the property and listen to our guests. We added non-stick cookie sheets and oven pans after one suggestion. We added the tree swing after another.
Hummingbird Holler got it's name from the several seasonal hummingbirds that visit each year. We put out at least 7 feeders a year to make sure you will get to experience such a fun and interesting bird. If you see that a feeder is empty, we put more juice in the upper left cabinet.
Have kids? We have a high chair booster seat combo and an additional booster seat. Also just added just before 2020 could end, we put in a new Bryant furnace. We installed central air conditioning April 2021.
You can spot Hummingbird Holler from a good distance as we have 2 of our signature pink concrete deer marking the driveway.
In our first year of business in 2020, we decided to address the crawlspace issue and had The Basement Authority come out to make sure you are safe. Check out the picture of what is below! It is amazing!
Escape from the city and get out and take in our fresh air! We have an isolated location for you and your family on 5 acres but it feels like so much more!
In February 2023 we added a whole house backup generator!!! It has been used a lot this year so far! Don't rent a place unless it has backup power otherwise you might not have water either!
And November brought a renovated bathroom. Hopefully 2024 brings a new master bathroom!
Come on down, according to a recent review... "Best kept secret in the (Hocking) Hills.... Such a blast to poke around the vast property" October 22nd, 2023....and that's before we renovated the bathroom!!!!

This is a great property, away from any highway noise and light pollution, and with very little car traffic. We were in the area primarily for OU graduation activities so we didn't get to spend as much time onsite as we might have otherwise, but it did not disappoint. The kitchen was fully appointed and will support cooking big meals if you need to do that. The master bedroom is very large, with a king sized bed and a big walk-in closet. Outside, there is plenty of room to stroll the grounds and overall, the whole property is very dog-friendly. We didn't get to take advantage of the fire pit, but it's well constructed and ready for use.Perhaps the thing we enjoyed most was sitting on the wide front porch in the morning with tea and coffee. The stream babbles along just a few yards in front of you and the hummingbirds buzz by on their way to the feeders. It's all incredibly relaxing. We are already talking about coming back just to spend a few days at the house chilling.Highly recommended!

Very Clean and even better than the pictures online. The host always responded in a timely manner. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Lived the hummingbirds. There was a doggie daycare about 15 minutes away that we put our golden retriever in while we went hiking called Hocking Hills Kennel that our senior dog did great at and the people were really nice. We hope we will be able to visit again.

This was my first experience with VRBO, having exclusively used Airxxx for years. Perhaps the differences between the two platforms contributed to my expectations. At 300 per night, I anticipated a higher quality stay. The location is fantastic, conveniently close to the hiking spots at Hocking Hills. The home was clean, and the grounds were lovely. However, a few minor improvements could elevate the experience to match the price point.Towels:I expected softer, more absorbent towels. The ones provided fell short of this basic standard. Amenities: The host supplied a low-quality hand soap that didn’t lather well, and there were no additional shower amenities like shampoo. In my experience with Airxxx, decent hand soap and basic toiletries are standard. Bedding: The master bedroom pillows were old and very mishapen, making for an uncomfortable sleep. Games:We attempted to play three games, all of which were missing pieces and seemed outdated. Our 16-year-old struggled with the trivia in the games, as much of it felt irrelevant. Carbon Monoxide Detector:There was an issue with the CO detector; it announced a loss of power every time the electricity went out—this happened 5-6 times overnight.Noise Issues: The sump pump was noisy throughout the night, which kept both my husband and me awake. Power Outages: We experienced multiple power outages, which ultimately broke my CPAP machine. If you rely on such devices, be cautious.Bathroom Situation: With only one bathroom, getting
