Villa Shambala is precisely what its name suggests...a mythical place.
A place where time stands still.
A sacred space
Villa Shambala is located on a 60 acre working organic farm and just an 8 minute drive to the famous Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra beaches in Guanacaste. Or decide to walk down a country road thru the village of Lagartillo leading to the beach of Playa Lagrtillo. You will most likely have the entire beach to yourself as the people tend to go to either Playa Negra or Playa Avellanas.
From the floor mosaics to the carved wooden doors to handcrafted counter surfaces made of polished concrete and glass to custom wood furniture and sculpted ceilings, nothing in Villa Shambala is ordinary. Everything is original. The architecture is that of Native cultures keeping in mind the Sacred Maloka, Gathering Place.
The villa is located on the highest point of a 60 acre organic fruit farm. A mango orchard amongst other exotic tropical fruit species are all within the farm which harvest plenty of fruit when in season for all to enjoy. even the monkeys !
Take a stroll thru the endless tropical gardens around the villa abound with many species of tropical flora.
Fresh Organic Eggs every morning from the chicken coup on the farm.
Hummingbirds, Dragonflies, and Butterflies of countless species make this their home.
A 15 minute walk down a rustic country road takes you to Lagartillo beach where you can enjoy the warm tropical waters without negotiating the crowds of many of the areas more popular beaches. Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra which are each an 8 minute drive from Villa Shambala. Tamarindo is a 30 minute drive where all the modern amenities are at reach. This short distance places your vacation in an atmosphere of peace and privacy that other vacation rental homes simply are not able to offer, while allowing you easy access to all of the amenities of Guanacaste's most popular destinations.
Villa Shambala is comprised of four air conditioned bedrooms, an open living area, a spacious kitchen, an ocean-view terrace that wraps the entire west side of the home with a large infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Both master bedrooms have extra large king size beds and includes a full ensuite-bath and shower. The upstairs master bedroom has a balcony looking towards the open ocean. The third bedroom has a extra large king size bed and sofa that converts to a single bed. This room is also the TV room. The private bath and shower however is off the main living room. Its the only room without en-suite.
The fourth bedroom is above the third bedroom which is reached by a staircase reminiscent of a turret in a castle. This room has one queen size bed and three single beds. Perfect for kids. This room has bathroom en-suite with shower.
Villa Shambala is the ideal destination for lovers of nature, art and spiritual journeys. Many varieties of birds visit the pool area and the sound of Guanacaste's howler monkeys echoes across the valleys. During Whale migration season many times you can see them breaching the water on there journey. Each space at Villa Shambala contains its own unique experience of surprise and delight.
Beside the villa, a footpath leads up a gentle hill to a shady lookout point. Have a seat on the rustic wooden bench and enjoy the ocean breeze and the green and blue panorama of Guanacaste's tropical dry forests meeting the ocean fading into the sky. The best sunsets you will ever see are displayed here at Shambala's private lookout point.
Excellent wi-fi service is available at Villa Shambala to keep you connected to the rest of the world. The TV Flat Screen SONY TV also has a Chromecast Toggle to connect to Netflix thru your computer or phone

house was so beautiful and clean. The pool was fun to play in and the garden was very well tended. We all enjoyed our stay. Great communication!

This property is spectacular! It had everything we needed and more. The views, home & garden are breathtaking. We saw howler monkeys & other animals on the property. The host & all staff were very helpful and quickly responded to any questions or needs. The location is secluded & you’ll need a vehicle with a little ground clearance to navigate the surrounding roads and driveway but it was no trouble at all. We will definitely be back!

Magical is what Shambala is all about!
The definition explains it all,
Harmony, good health, and wellbeing!
That is just the beginning.
I planned a vacation for my family, ages 13 to 75 hoping to find an experience like no other.
The villa was exceptionally in every way from the beautiful gardens to the peacefulness of the pool overlooking the flowers teaming with butterflies and hummingbirds. Your eyes then traveled to the rainforest and the ocean beyond.
Request were satisfied by ziplines ,off shore fishing and relaxing in the hammock ( a whole book was read).
The villa was kept spotless everyday and the breakfast served was delicious!
We all learned what living was like in a Central American Country.
The villa, county, and people were all perfect!
I sincerely hope to return some day.

The house was beautiful. The only thing was the location was difficult to reach in rainy weather.
