About this house rental
WELCOME: We always welcome our guests in person, give a tour of the property and its quirks, then leave you to get on with the business of vacationing.
This in-town home gets a small amount of normal town traffic past the front gate. It is quiet/serene inside the house.
HOT/COLD: Fans provided in each room during summer months.
Relax in the warmth of this centrally heated (and Pellet Fire) home-from-home during the colder months. All included in nightly rate.
COMFY: Calm colours and comfy, quality furnishings and an eclectic mix of old and new art and décor are a feature of this lovely property.
Modern appliances and amenities in a 'French Country' setting. Dishwasher, Microwave, several types of Coffee appliances.
If you want to mix business with pleasure, then this is the perfect base for you. Dedicated Office.
Safe and secure behind a privacy wall/gates.
Well equipped kitchen with basic groceries incl. (Milk, coffee, tea, oil, butter, wine et al)
All bed linens/towels/shampoo, shower gel et al, provided.
PLUS we welcome you with some sweet treats and a couple of bottles of wine.

WALK: Within easy walking distance of the Coop/Tabac, Boucherie/Traiteur/Depot de Pain, Atelier Pizza/burger/Café (exc. thin crust pizza!)
Medical Cabinet/Pharmacy, Hairdresser.
ACTIVITIES: Unwind, sunbathe, and enjoy outdoor eating and Apero on the terrace, shaded and otherwise, during warmer months.
You can catch the train to most centres from Jarnac and Cognac.
Canoe, waterski, horse-ride, fish, cycle, walk/hike, Chateaux spot and Golf.
Famous Cognac houses abound in this area of course and you are spoiled for choice. Tour the back roads, take a picnic to one of the Tables d'Orientation in the Grand Champagne and admire the stunning views out over the vines, to the Charente River Valley below.
DINING/RESTAURANTS: You are only 5 minutes to N141, 8kms to Jarnac with its open 7 days restaurants and bars and supermarkets, less than 2kms to 2 excellent 'local' restaurants, 20 minutes to Cognac, and half an hour to Angouleme.
If its sun and sea you seek, you can be at Royan Plage on the Atlantic coast within 60 mins.
Roman ruins and art? Rouillac, Saintes, Pons and St Jean d'Angely are only half an hour north.

SUPERMARKETS: 13kms to SuperU in Rouillac and Chateauneuf-sur-Charente, 16kms to Cognac, 7kms to Jarnac.

Monica and Warren are great hosts and met us at the property to go through everything with us. The house is charming and tastefully renovated. There is a bit of local traffic noise but other than that a great location in the village. We would stay there again!

Une maison confortable, finement aménagée, avec goût avec un clin d'œil British. Au cœur d'une région riche aux multiples ressources, la Charente, le Cognac, les abbayes, les villages à la pierre blanche.
