I only stayed one night because of the high price, but it was worth it to try something so unique. I recommend it at least once in your life, if you love cats. Actually considering how special this is, and that the money does help the cats, it's a good deal.
I work at a cat lounge in USA, so I always visited Neco Republic whenever I want to visit cat cafes, because I know Neco Republic is one of the few ethical cat cafes in Japan. I recommend to only visit cat cafes which have rescue cats who are adoptable or encourage adoption, if you care about animal welfare.
I might have gotten lucky and it seemed like I was the only one staying that night, so it was like having a private room almost. I was allowed to use the lower and upper level on my half of the room, while the other was empty.
There is a shower room and toilet, and bathroom amenities like soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, hair dryer, etc.
There are some special rules to know, such as closing the window to the cat room after 10pm to give the cats their own privacy. You cannot drink on the bed, but there is a drink setup with a small table you can sit on the tatami floor to eat or drink there. They had milk tea, latte, coffee, and matcha.
Staff was super friendly and chill. The person who first checked me in guided me through everything, and helped to identify the cats and which are advised to touch or not touch.
The cats clearly love the staff. There are some really friendly cats like Kotetsu and Chie (though maybe they will be adopted soon).
