**1/5 Stars – Shockingly Unsanitary Practices** When you book accommodation in Japan, you naturally expect a baseline standard of cleanliness. Unfortunately, this place was an absolute exception. It is hands down the most disgusting hostel I have ever stayed in. The hygienic standard—or total lack thereof—is stomach-turning. I personally witnessed how they handle the bedding between guests: they strip off the pillowcase, toss the bare pillow and the comforter directly onto the carpeted floor, spray them with a quick aerosol mist, and then put a fresh pillowcase right back over the unwashed pillow before making the bed. To make matters infinitely worse, guests are allowed to wear outdoor shoes inside on the carpets. You are placing items that people rest their faces and bodies on directly onto a surface tracked by hundreds of dirty outdoor shoes every single day, only to cover it up with a thin, clean sheet. A clean pillowcase doesn't hide the fact that the actual bedding beneath it is filthy. Save yourself the nightmare and book literally anywhere else.
